“Could you stay at the hotel for one night and check out what their service is like?”

Tae Ha readily agreed when his father Leon asked him to spend a night at the newly acquired hotel.

“Yes, Father. I’ll do that.”

In truth, he’d received the same request before, but back then, right in the middle of dinner, he’d witnessed Si Hyeon’s fiancé cheating, which made him so furious he canceled his stay and stormed out.

Since it was a rare request from his father, he really wanted to fulfill it this time.

“If you don’t mind, would you go with Si Hyeon? I’ll have them prepare the best suite.”

“I’ll go alone.”

Tae Ha replied bitterly. Truthfully, he’d go with her if she asked—but that would be it. At most, it’d be like last time: lying beside her in bed, nothing more.

Even now, just thinking about that night made him break out in a cold sweat. He couldn’t even count how many times he’d pinched his own thigh to endure the urge to pull her into his arms and kiss her.

[Just sleep. If you do anything weird, you’ll get in trouble.]

Had she not made that rule clear beforehand, he’d have kissed her a thousand times over.

Once was enough for a night like that.

So Tae Ha didn’t tell Si Hyeon the truth. If he had, and she’d insisted on coming along with a cheerful “I’ll go too!”, it would’ve been a disaster.

He didn’t trust himself to spend a night in the same room with a woman who hated even having her hand kissed—more precisely, he wasn’t confident he could behave himself and do absolutely nothing.

[I think I have some work at my office. I might not even make it home tonight.]
