Following Jae Ho, who stomped into the house with heavy footsteps, Hwa Ran limped in behind him.

Because of the big fall she’d taken at the restaurant earlier, her brand-new outfit was completely ruined, and one of her expensive earrings had vanished entirely.

Her hair was now disheveled, making her look half-mad, and Hwa Ran huffed angrily as she shouted at Jae Ho.

“Do you seriously believe that woman’s words?”

“So you’re saying my in-law just made up a lie out of nothing?”

“So you’re claiming I made it up? That I’m the one lying to you?”

“You’re the one who lied to me! What was that nonsense about a younger sister from your hometown needing a job? Be honest—were you involved with that man from the very beginning?”

Facing Jae Ho’s terrifying outburst, Hwa Ran didn’t flinch and yelled right back.

“If we really had that kind of relationship, would I have fired Driver Kim along with that woman back then? That was already over a decade ago! How am I supposed to deal with someone whose whereabouts—or even if she’s still alive—are completely unknown now?”
