As soon as Si Hyun left the house, Bo Ra immediately got up, dressed, and left.

“Don’t ever contact me again.”
Left alone in the empty newlywed house, Woo Jin didn’t know what to do.

Just yesterday, he had thought it was absolutely impossible with Si Hyun. He met Bo Ra with the intention of getting her pregnant and keeping her, but when Si Hyun found out and declared a divorce, he felt like the sky was falling.

[You cheated, got caught by me, and so I broke off the marriage.] What about the wedding invitations that had already been sent out? The newlywed house? The honeymoon? What about the company’s wedding venue that had been reserved?

Cold sweat broke out at the thought of office people gossiping behind his back. Suddenly, he felt his age.

For a man in social life, whether he was married or not was subtly important. Already being thirtyfive, when would he meet another woman, date her, and even marry her?

Woo Jin was on edge.

‘It’s all because of mom.’
He resented Jung Im. It was just a little fight with Si Hyun, but mom had to stir things up unnecessarily!

The more he thought about it, the more he missed Si Hyun. She was kind, ambitious, frugal, and there was no woman like her.

He felt that he wouldn’t exchange Bo Ra for Si Hyun, even if Bo Ra were offered to him now. To begin with, Bo Ra was not a woman he could handle. She wasn’t satisfied even with a two million won necklace.

A caterpillar should eat the leaves of a pine. Si Hyun was perfect for me.

‘What was I thinking!’
Woo Jin, who had been sitting in a daze due to the panty scandal, came to his senses only when morning came. He had no choice but to cling to her now. He picked up whatever clothes he could find and ran out of the room.

“……!”
As he passed through the living room, Woo Jin suddenly stopped in surprise.

The wedding photo frame that was definitely hanging perfectly on the living room wall yesterday was shattered on the floor.

He saw broken pieces of a vase scattered around with the broken glass pieces. There was no doubt that Si Hyun had thrown the vase at the frame when she left.

She’s really thinking about breaking off the marriage! He became even more anxious.

First, he left the house and was about to call Si Hyun when he remembered something late.

‘Right, I smashed Si Hyun’s phone, didn’t I?’
He hailed a taxi and headed straight for Si Hyun’s house.

“Can we go a bit faster, please?”

Inside the taxi, Woo Jin was at a loss, fidgeting with his feet. It was well past the time to go to work, but he had completely forgotten about his office. His only urgency was to change Si Hyun’s mind.

Upon reaching Si Hyun’s house, Woo Jin, unable to wait for the elevator, ran up the stairs. As he had always avoided exercise like the plague, he was out of breath just climbing up to the 3rd floor.

Catching his breath, Woo Jin repeatedly pressed the doorbell.

“Si Hyun, it’s me! Please open the door!”
There was no response, so out of desperation, he started banging on the front door.

“Let’s talk for a minute!”
Finally, the door opened. Without even checking who it was, Woo Jin let out a sigh of relief.

“Si Hyun, about last night…!”
In response, a fist flew out of nowhere, striking Woo Jin’s cheek.

“Ugh!”
It was only after he had staggered back that Woo Jin saw the face of his assaulter. Tae Ha was looking down at him with an expression like a messenger from hell.

At the deadly expression, Woo Jin instinctively realized that he was in big trouble.

Scared, he started slowly moving back, when Si Hyun appeared from behind Tae Ha, grabbed his arm, and stopped him.

“Don’t hit him, Tae Ha.”
Recalling that Si Hyun had stopped him like this before, Woo Jin’s eyes started to well up with tears. Despite what I did, Si Hyun, you’re still…!

Just as Woo Jin was about to break down crying, Si Hyun spoke with a regretful look.

“… You’ll only hurt your fist. You should kick him instead.”
After saying this, Si Hyun coolly let go of Tae Ha’s hand.

“I think I need to go lie down. Take care.”
Waving her hand lightly, Si Hyun, staggering a bit, disappeared back into the house.

Tae Ha, rolling up his sleeves, came out and slammed the door shut.

Woo Jin, who had been lying on the ground in terror, began to slowly retreat. He had been hit by Tae Ha before and knew that Tae Ha’s big fists looked scary and felt even worse when they hit.

“I’m sorry.”
Looking up at Tae Ha, Woo Jin brought his hands together and pleaded.

“I won’t appear in front of Si Hyun ever again. Please, please don’t hit me!”
There was a look of disgust in Tae Ha’s brown eyes, as if he was looking at a bug.

Instead of throwing a punch at Woo Jin, who was still lying on the ground, Tae Ha crossed his arms and kicked between Woo Jin’s legs.

Woo Jin held his groin and widened his eyes.

“…..!”

Looking down at Woo Jin, who was writhing in unbearable agony without even being able to scream, Tae Ha muttered in a low voice,

“Get lost.”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
