Ding. The front door opened all too easily.
Yeo Woon stepped into Seol Ji Oh’s house. The familiar scent of Seol Ji Oh was in the air, and Lucky, sensing a presence from afar, approached Yeo Woon.
“Hello, Lucky.”
Lucky rubbed his head against her as if recognizing Yeo Woon. When Yeo Woon stroked him, Lucky, who had been wagging his tail quietly, suddenly lifted his head and led the way as if to invite her to follow.
Following Lucky led Yeo Woon to a door in front of which Lucky had stopped and let out a small whine.
Awoooo.
It seemed to be Seol Ji Oh’s room.
“Are you in there, bro?”
Lucky looked at Yeo Woon as if to confirm, his ears perked up.
Yeo Woon carefully opened the room door.
“Excuse me…”
Yeo Woon couldn’t finish her words. Because she saw Seol Ji Oh curled up on the large bed.

Yeo Woon quickly approached and checked Seol Ji Oh’s condition. His face and body were drenched in sweat. Despite that, he seemed to be having chills as he was shivering, clutching the blanket tightly in his hand.
His forehead was as hot as she expected. Yeo Woon inadvertently sighed.
Lucky seemed to be worried too, as he climbed onto one side of the bed, lying down and looking at Seol Ji Oh.
Yeo Woon raised the room’s temperature and went out to the living room. She needed to contact Chief Choi Hyun who would be worried.
[Yes. Miss Yeo Woon. Is he at home?] “Yes. But he’s really sick.”[Ji Oh?] “Yes. It seems to be because of the shooting yesterday……”
[Ah, I will contact his primary doctor for now. But it’s late, so he may not be able to come.] “I’ll stay by his side for now. But, Chief, do you think there are any medicines in this house?”
[There probably aren’t any medicines.] “I see. I’ll contact you again.”
After hanging up, Yeo Woon headed to the entrance, thinking she needed to buy medicine. Then she thought she might check the refrigerator in the kitchen.
As expected.
In the refrigerator, only a few bottles of water were carelessly left.
What on earth does this guy live on?
Yeo Woon thought she had done well to check the refrigerator, and took her car keys to go out.

When Yeo Woon returned after a while, she put the groceries she had bought in the refrigerator and headed to Seol Ji Oh’s room with the medicine.
The room always smelled of Seol Ji Oh. Yeo Woon found it strange that she now recognized even the scent of Seol Ji Oh.
Only now did she see the layout of the room, which she hadn’t noticed earlier due to the urgency. Seol Ji Oh’s room was like a hotel room, with chic furniture neatly arranged in perfect symmetry on both sides.
Yeo Woon turned on the lamp on the console and sat next to Seol Ji Oh.
“Ji Oh. Seol Ji Oh.”
At the sound of his name, Seol Ji Oh slightly furrowed his brow, but he couldn’t open his eyes. Instead, he moaned as if he was in pain. His pillow was damp with cold sweat.
“Look at this sweat.”
Yeo Woon went to the bathroom and came back with a towel soaked in water. As she wiped Seol Ji Oh’s face and neck with the wet towel, his heat transferred directly to her hand.
“This is serious. You need to take medicine.”
Yeo Woon hesitated, then woke Seol Ji Oh up. She gently shook Seol Ji Oh’s shoulder and called his name.
“Ji Oh. Open your eyes. Seol Ji Oh!”
Suddenly, a hot hand reached up and tightly grabbed Yeo Woon’s wrist. Seol Ji Oh’s eyelids, which had been shut, fluttered and then lifted.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
