With Raphelian’s permission, Lasiel submitted her resume to the perfume shop along with Christine. Though they hadn’t included letters of recommendation, both were safely hired as weekend part-time employees.

“I’m nervous.”

After a brief orientation, the two were immediately assigned to the floor.

Although they’d been deployed right away, their duties didn’t yet involve directly serving customers.

For the time being, they simply needed to stand by the entrance and diligently greet everyone, as a way to gradually learn the work.

Lasiel and Christine bowed politely, hands clasped respectfully. Occasionally, they recognized familiar faces, but they didn’t initiate further conversation.

However, the news that Lasiel was working at the perfume shop unexpectedly spread through the academy and among the young ladies’ social circles via those acquaintances.

“No matter how beautiful and clever Lasiel may be, she’s ultimately just an orphan.”

“Hahaha. Working not even as a regular employee but as a temporary one in that shop.”

“I was worried someone might end up with the Marquis or one of the twin brothers, but clearly that won’t happen.”

“Of course not. Social status really is insurmountable. If she were ever meant to become part of that family, she’d never be doing something like this.”

Such rumors quickly circulated.
