The Wife Who Ran Away (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 21
Early morning.
Yeon Joo was spending a busy time in the kitchen.
As a savory aroma spread through the kitchen, Yeon Joo lifted the lid off the pot. Inside was a generous portion of meticulously prepared seaweed soup.
She ladled the soup into a thermal lunchbox. While the soup cooled slightly inside, Yeon Joo finished getting ready to leave.
She put on a neat dress, a black coat, and wrapped a scarf around her neck—today’s weather had suddenly turned cold.
Once fully prepared to go out, Yeon Joo returned to the kitchen and closed the lunchbox lid. She carefully placed the container filled with seaweed soup, rice, and side dishes into her bag. Holding the bag, she stepped out the front door.
Outside, the sharp wind made tree branches sway.
Yeon Joo greeted the driver waiting in front of the house and got into the car.
“Please take me to ** Hospital.”
Today was Mi Hyun’s birthday. Every year on this day, just like today, Yeon Joo prepared seaweed soup and visited her.
She knew Mi Hyun couldn’t actually eat the soup. She also knew she wouldn’t even hear a simple “thank you.”
Even so, she couldn’t just ignore it. If not her, then who else would remember Mi Hyun’s birthday?
After Mi Hyun’s accident, the few people who initially visited had gradually disappeared after exactly one month. Even Dae Han stopped coming once he got involved with another woman.
Nothing would be different just because it was Mi Hyun’s birthday. Having grown up without parents, Mi Hyun had only Yeon Joo as family to care for her on such a lonely day.
About ten minutes remained before reaching the hospital, having passed through congested roads.

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”
