His statement implied that his relationship with Yeonju would continue as it was.
This caused Hongseok’s gaze to narrow. Unfazed, Jinyook continued, “It’s true that it’s difficult for her to conceive, but it’s not completely impossible. We are looking for ways to solve this, and I believe we will see positive results soon. Please wait for us.”
“That’s just your opinion, isn’t it?”
Hongseok shook his head and continued, “Your faith in her doesn’t change the fact that her future with you is uncertain.”
Hongseok’s expression was grim. He too seemed to regret the situation as he sighed deeply.
“I understand it’s hard to let go of someone who has just lost their parents. I don’t want to do this either.”
“…”
“But considering your future, it’s right to let Yeonju go as soon as possible. You are destined for…”
Hongseok’s words ultimately meant that Yeonju should be sent away. Jinyook interrupted him firmly, “I have no intention of divorcing her.”
Hongseok’s face contorted with irritation as he raised his voice.

“So you plan to continue living with her? Yeonju is not a benefit to you; she’s a liability.”
“Even if she is, I don’t mind. My decision remains the same.”
Despite Hongseok’s loud protestations, Jinyook remained resolute. Hongseok sighed deeply and then, lowering his voice, tried to persuade him softly.
“Jinyook, this is not a matter that can be resolved by being stubborn.”
“…”
“You know how much your mother and I have pinned our hopes on you. Though it may be tough now, you will realize in the future that my decision was the right one.”
Hongseok looked at Jinyook with a deep gaze. Jinyook had never caused any trouble since he was young.
He was a commendable grandson who always accomplished whatever was expected of him, and more reliable than his own sons.
There was a firm conviction in Hongseok’s heart that Jinyook would eventually accept his will. That’s who Jinyook was.
“Pity is temporary and won’t help you in any way. The longer you delay, the more everyone, not just you, will get hurt. So make up your mind as soon as possible.”
Hongseok spoke with a more stern and serious demeanor than ever before, believing that Jinyook would understand his point. But, for some reason, Jinyook’s expression only seemed to harden.

Jinyook spoke firmly, “Yeonju is my wife.”
“…”
“Regardless of what you say, grandfather, I have no intention of letting Yeonju go.”
After saying this, Jinyook stood up.
“My mind is made up, so please don’t call me over this matter again.”
“…”
“I’ll take my leave.”
He bowed and was about to leave when Aeran, shocked, rushed over to him.
“Oh, he must be out of his mind!”
She clutched Jinyook’s arm, exclaiming, “Are you in your right mind? Quickly apologize to your grandfather!”

“…”
Jinyook silently removed her hand from his arm and strode towards the entrance.
“Jinyook!”
Despite her calling after him, Jinyook didn’t turn back and left the house.
Aeran, not knowing what to do, turned to Hongseok and said, “I’m sorry, father. I’ll apologize on his behalf.”
“…”
“I’ll bring him back once he’s in his right mind…”
“Leave it be,” Hongseok said with a stern look, stopping her. He gazed towards the entrance where Jinyook had left and remarked, “I didn’t realize Jinyook had such a tender spot.”
“…”
“But it’s just a momentary feeling. He’ll soon realize what path is truly best for him.”

Hongseok seemed confident that Jinyook would eventually change his mind.
However, Aeran couldn’t just wait for that ‘someday.’ She feared that Inhyuk might take Jinyook’s place in the meantime.
Unable to openly express her wariness towards Inhyuk to Hongseok, Aeran felt inwardly distressed.
Then, Hongseok softly added, “From what I see… even if we don’t do anything, Yeonju won’t stay put.”
Aeran tilted her head in confusion at his cryptic words.
“What do you mean, father?”
Hongseok, deep in thought, said, “If I haven’t misjudged her…”
“…”
“Before we push her out, Yeonju will leave on her own.”
Yeonju leaving first?

Aeran looked perplexed. Unlike her, Hongseok maintained a calm demeanor and continued, “Whether Yeonju leaves first or Jinyook comes to his senses, one of these will eventually happen.”
“…”
“So let’s just wait a little longer.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
