Jinwook paced anxiously back and forth in the corridor. Nearby, Aran and Hongseok were also tense, standing with the same nervous expressions. Hongseok had rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard the news that Yeonju had started experiencing contractions.
They were standing in front of the delivery room, eagerly awaiting Yeonju’s childbirth.
“Mom, please give a little more strength!”
“Ugh !!”
As Yeonju exerted herself, a groan of pain escaped her. Hearing her voice, Jinwook rushed to a nearby nurse and said,
“My wife seems to be in a lot of pain. Isn’t there a risk that something might go wrong?”
The nurse responded with a tired face,
“Calm down. It’s normal for everyone to go through this kind of pain.”
“Wouldn’t it be better to have a cesarean section if it’s so difficult?”
“With a cesarean section, once the anesthesia wears off, it’s painful too. It’s the same as going through difficulty. The baby will be out soon, so please be patient and wait a little longer.”

Jinwook, appearing almost every five minutes like this, came to express Yeonju’s worries. In fact, when they first came here, Jinwook was with Yeonju in the delivery room. However, every time Yeonju struggled, he was driven away to the corridor, claiming that he was being a disturbance.
Aran, who was next to him, also spoke to Jinwook, trying to comfort him with her experience.
“Yeah. Jinwook, try to relax. Even Mom suffered a lot when she gave birth to you.”
Although Aran tried to share her experience to console him, it seemed like Jinwook couldn’t hear her words. All that he could hear was Yeonju’s painful voice.
When Yeonju’s scream-like voice echoed from the delivery room again, Jinwook’s complexion turned pale. It truly felt like his blood was drying up.
“This won’t work. At this rate, Yeonju will die.”
Jinwook walked briskly toward the delivery room, saying,
“I need to go and talk to them.”
At the moment when Jinwook seemed about to enter the delivery room right away, Hongseok and Aran stopped him.
“Waaah! Waaah! Waaah!”

A loud crying sound echoed through the corridor, and the three of them simultaneously froze in their tracks.
“!!”
With joyful eyes, the three of them looked at each other.
“Wow! It seems like it’s finally out!”
“Congratulations, Jinwook!”
Aran and Hongseok congratulated Jinwook with joy. Jinwook couldn’t say anything as he listened to the baby’s crying.
At that moment, the delivery room door opened, and a nurse appeared.
“Husband, please come in wearing this.”
Jinwook quickly put on a sterilized gown and a mask before entering. Inside the delivery room, Yeonju, who looked exhausted, lay there.
Jinwook went straight to Yeonju.

“Are you okay?”
“…Yes. I’m okay.”
Seeing her drained voice, Jinwook’s expression softened.
“You’ve been through a lot.”
“Where is the baby?”
When Jinwook turned his head, the nurse brought the baby wrapped in a cloth. Jinwook gently and cautiously picked up the baby.
Jinwook’s pupils trembled as he saw the baby. Emotions that couldn’t be described in words surged, and his eyes became warm with tears.
To get a closer look at the baby’s face, Jinwook lowered himself in the direction of Yeonju.
Yeonju looked at the baby’s face with trembling eyes.
The face was as small as a fist, and every feature was tiny and adorable.
There was not a single unattractive aspect.

Even the hair, which hadn’t grown yet, was beautiful, the wrinkled forehead from crying was beautiful, and even the crying sound was beautiful.
The presence of such a lovable being by his side was incredibly joyful and moving. The pain that felt like he might die disappeared as soon as he saw the baby’s face.
“So beautiful.”
Tears flowed from Yeonju’s eyes as she looked at the baby. Witnessing this, Jinwook’s eyes also reddened.
“You’ve worked hard.”
Jinwook kissed Yeonju’s forehead.
“Thank you, Yeonju.”
Looking at the faces of Yeonju and the baby, Jinwook made a vow.
He would raise the happiest child in the world.
No matter what happens, he will protect these two.

Making countless promises in his heart, he shed warm tears.
“Oh my, it’s so cute!”
Haeyoung laughed brightly as she looked at the baby’s face through the nursery room’s glass.
Next to her, Yeonju, wearing maternity clothes, was also visible. After gazing at the baby’s face for a while, Haeyoung spoke to Yeonju.
“As expected, the beauty is no joke. Look at the nose and forehead, they resemble Dad, and the lips and chin resemble you, Ms. Yeonju.”
“Really? This is the first time I’ve heard that I resemble Jinwook. Everyone says the baby looks exactly like him.”
Yeonju added with a smile.
“I hoped the baby would resemble Dad’s face, and thankfully it does.”
“Oh, stop it. In my eyes, Ms. Yeonju is much prettier.”
Haeyoung also added with sincerity.

“And I don’t know about other things, but I hope the baby takes after Ms. Yeonju in terms of personality.”
At that moment, a familiar voice was heard from behind.
“How’s my personality?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
