“That… Is that really true?”
Chaelin asked with a trembling voice.
Inhyuk hung his jacket on the hanger and replied, “It’s true. I heard it directly from Grandpa at the company.”
Chaelin asked again, as if she couldn’t believe it, “Really, Gyuri… No, Dongseo is pregnant?”
“Yeah. It seems they confirmed it at the hospital today.”
“No… How…”
Chaelin’s face stiffened.
She had heard that Gyuri had a difficult time getting pregnant…
While her eyes trembled in confusion, Inhyuk changed his clothes and said, “I saw Grandpa so delighted for the first time. It’s understandable. It’s been almost two years since he started singing the song for his great-grandchildren, and he finally granted his wish with twins.”
“…”

“Two of them, too.”
Chaelin’s pupils shook significantly. As her complexion turned pale, Inhyuk asked, concerned, “Are you okay? Your complexion doesn’t look good.”
“…”
“Grandpa always emphasizes that you should take good care of yourself whenever he sees you. If your health is not good, you should go to the hospital…”
“No, it’s okay.”
Chaelin raised her head immediately. Then, trying to maintain composure, she said, “Honestly, the news of Dongseo’s pregnancy isn’t entirely good news for us. That’s why my expression stiffened.”
“…”
“But what can we do? Just because I’m upset doesn’t mean the fact of the pregnancy will disappear… Now that it has happened, all we can do is congratulate them.”
After uttering her words as calmly as possible, Chaelin turned away.
“I’m tired. I’ll go to bed first.”

Chaelin went straight to the bedroom. As soon as she entered, she slumped onto the bed without energy.
Chaelin wrapped her hair around her fist. Her head ached to the point of insanity.
‘Gyuri is pregnant…’
She never expected such a thing to happen. From what she knew, Gyuri had a body that made pregnancy difficult. How could she overcome such challenging odds?
With an anxious gaze, Chaelin bit her nails. Gyuri’s pregnancy might be like a miracle to someone, but to her, it was a terrible tragedy.
She muttered with a disheveled complexion, “So what should I do now?”
Wearing a neatly designed dress, Yeonju entered the hotel with Jinwook.
Jinwook, like Yeonju, also had a clean hairstyle and wore a black suit.
As the two entered the hotel, many people had already gathered.
At the hotel entrance, there were people who seemed like reporters, and inside, people wearing hanboks or suits were visible.

The reason this hotel was bustling since Saturday morning was that today was the day of the marriage of a conglomerate family’s daughter-in-law.
The groom was the eldest son of a group famous for automobile production, and the bride was the daughter of the chairman of a prominent fashion company.
As it was a wedding between influential families with deep traditions and impact, not only the owners of major groups but also prominent figures from the political and business sectors were all attending the wedding.
Yeonju and Jinwook also came here as official guests and, upon arrival, exchanged greetings with numerous people.
“Chairman Cha, it’s been a while.”
The representative of a group that had a close relationship with Hongseok warmly welcomed Jinwook.
“Hello, Representative.”
“I heard news from Chairman Cha. It seems you’re very excited about the prospect of having a great-grandchild. Haha.”
The representative looked at Yeonju and added, “Chairman Cha praised his grandson’s wife repeatedly. Congratulations. Take care of your health.”
“Yes, thank you.”
Yeonju politely nodded. Afterward, she continued to greet everyone, and most likely, she had heard about the bragging through Hongseok’s phone for more than ten minutes.

Yeonju felt a change in the way people treated her. Previously, she often pretended not to know others and passed by like a screen, even though she had met them a few times before. Many people even failed to remember her face and name, despite several greetings. But now, people approached her first, exchanged greetings, and even called her by name.
In the midst of feeling a bit awkward and happy about the clearly changed situation, a familiar face appeared near the entrance of the venue.
“Grandfather has arrived.”
Jinwook turned his gaze upon Yeonju’s words. Coming in with everyone’s attention was the sight of Hongseok and Aran. Chaelin and Inhyuk, who had met them at the hotel entrance, were also behind them.
With Hongseok’s appearance, figures from the political and business sectors approached to congratulate him.
“Long time no see, Chairman Cha.”
“I heard the news. Congratulations! I’m sure the joy is immense, just as much as you waited.”
“Now that you’re about to have two great-grandchildren, how delightful it must be.”
Hongseok laughed heartily and said, “Of course, it is. These days, my stomach feels full even without eating.”
As people were about to offer congratulations to Chaelin and Inhyuk, Aran spoke in a loud voice.

“Won’t you come over here? Jinwook and our second daughter-in-law are already here.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
