“Don’t frown while I’m applying your makeup! Goodness! If you do, I’ll have to wipe it all off and start over!”

“I’m going to curl your hair. You’ll have to bear with the heat. Can I lie down? Of course not! Do you actually want to see me cry?”

…I hadn’t realized it would demand such immense patience.

‘Is Hadel preparing just like me? I hope he isn’t suffering as much as I am. Otherwise, that’d feel pretty unfair.’

I’d rather just wear formal attire with a badge on my trousers. After all, I’m both a princess and a knight—it’s perfectly reasonable.

At least I hadn’t voiced those complaints aloud, knowing full well how childish they’d sound.

Still, I couldn’t completely hide my dissatisfaction, so I stuck out my lower lip. Evelyn, who had come to watch me put on my dress for the final time, smiled gracefully and said,

“You look adorable with that duck-like expression, Your Highness.”

“Your sarcasm has really leveled up, Evelyn.”

“I mean it sincerely.”

That’s even worse. It means no matter how displeased I look, I still come across as cute.

‘Even though I’m incredibly annoyed and frustrated, I’m holding back and cooperating! If no one recognizes my effort, I’m the one who loses out!’

Instead of calling me cute, they should praise my patience! Better yet, notice how uncomfortable I am and hurry up and finish dressing me!

Unfortunately, everyone around me seemed determined not to rush anything. I sighed heavily as the palace attendant carefully redrew the lipstick I’d accidentally smeared one last time.
