The White Stoat Princess (5 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 15
I diligently dusted off the dust that had settled on Hadel’s desk, around the drawers, and on the armrests of the chair with my short tail.
Naturally, I ended up reaching the ink bottle and the pens hanging in the pen holder.
‘This is the first time I’ve seen a pen like this. Wrapping the pen shaft in metal. Probably to prevent it from catching fire?’
I felt both pity and a complicated emotion. I looked at the metal-wrapped pen with regretful eyes before turning my gaze to the documents beneath it. I could see the documents that had been left half-written just moments ago. I frowned.
‘But the addition is wrong. Should I fix it?’
To think even something this basic was mistaken. I pouted my lips and picked up the pen. But there was a problem.
‘Ugh, the pen is heavy.’
The metal-wrapped pen was far heavier than a normal pen.
“Kkyung!”
I used all my strength to lift the pen and try to write, but I staggered and ended up falling over.
Clang!
“Kyuu?!”
In the process, my butt bumped hard against the ink bottle on the desk.
‘I caused an accident.’
Thankfully the ink bottle didn’t spill, but ink splattered everywhere, dotting the document I was about to fix with countless stains. I clicked my tongue and pulled out a blank sheet of paper.
‘For now, I can just copy the ink-soaked document exactly as it is. And while I’m copying, I’ll fix the wrong numbers too.’
Grunting with effort as I dragged the pen, I diligently wrote on the paper. The beginning was hard, but once I got the pen moving, the heavy pen gained momentum and became somewhat easier to handle.
‘Oh, I think I’m writing better than him.’
Thank goodness the alphabet was the same. After diligently copying everything, I hung the pen back in the holder.
‘Ugh, but I don’t see any cloth to wipe the ink with.’
Now I had to wipe the ink that had splattered in places other than the document, but I couldn’t find any suitable tool.
“Kyuu.”
Nothing I can do about it.
I let out a deep sigh. Then, with my tail that had already been working hard all day, I wiped away the places where the ink had splattered.
‘Phew, I think that’s everything cleaned up. Shall I head out now?’
Just as I was about to leave, I paused for a moment. Then I crawled toward the open window.
‘Ugh, it’s cold.’
The chilly wind made my teeth chatter immediately. But I had a goal, so I had no choice.
‘Ugh, Hadel better appreciate how much I’m suffering for him.’
I crawled out the window, grabbed “that thing” which was my original objective, and quickly returned inside the office.
‘Whew, I absolutely cannot go outside ever again. It’s not even full winter yet and it’s this cold—if real snow starts falling, how freezing will it be?’
I want a warm southern country! Please send me there.
Having finished even my final errand, I stepped out of the office with a refreshed heart. Whether it was consideration for me or not, the door was slightly ajar, which was fortunate.
Once outside, I looked around.
‘The office is here, but where’s the library?’
My real goal wasn’t the office—it was the library! My plan is to survive by reading books there and accumulating knowledge about the world.
‘At the very least, I need to find out about the climate around here—whether I’ll freeze to death every day or not.’
The weather was especially important to me. If it’s cold all year round, even after gaining independence from Hadel, I wouldn’t be able to live here.
‘Why is Hadel so obsessed with my fur! Please just leave me alone! Love me as a pet!’
Feeling aggrieved and sniffling, I ran down the hallway and ended up running into more people. This time, it was maids who were dusting.
“Kyaa! A weasel!”
“It’s really white? But it looks a bit different from what I heard?”
“Shh, be quiet. We’re supposed to pretend we didn’t see it.”
I had hoped to get some information, but it seemed an order to ignore me had been issued here too.
‘No, they should be ordered to feed me or carry me around—what’s with the “pretend you didn’t see it” order.’
I didn’t know what Hadel was thinking by giving such a command, but it still made me feel sad. I let out a huge sigh and trudged onward. After walking for a while, I heard a small murmur behind me.
“…Cute.”
‘Huh?’
I turned around. The maids quickly scattered to avoid my gaze, but they couldn’t completely hide their sparkling eyes directed at me.
As expected, “cute” referred to this body of mine.
Trending
‘Well, this body is indeed cute.’
I shrugged my shoulders, then realized it was pointless and shrank back down.
‘What’s the use of being cute. Everyone treats me like a ghost weasel.’
Sob sob, being a weasel is too heartbreaking.
‘I even cleaned so diligently—isn’t this too much? I deserve a reward.’
Grumbling as I walked, I suddenly twitched my nose. An extremely sweet and fragrant smell was tempting my nose.
‘Ah, sweet smell. Could this be cake?’
The terror of having tasted something once is real. Smells I used to pass by without meaning now came to me vividly with significance. I perked up my ears and tail.
‘Cake!’
Where’s my cake! I worked really hard today. I even fixed the wrong addition.
So the cake is mine!
Following the scent and running, I soon spotted a familiar cart in the middle of the hallway.
‘That’s the butler’s cart!’
It was the very cart that always brought my meals.
As expected, it was my cake!
‘I’ll enjoy it!’
I joyfully jumped—just at that moment.
“Got you.”
“Kyuu!”
As I was dashing toward the cake scent, my body suddenly floated in mid-air.
Of course I hadn’t suddenly learned to fly; someone had grabbed the scruff of my neck as I lunged toward the cart.
And that person was none other than Hadel.
‘How did he know I was here.’
I rolled my eyes round and round to meet the gaze of Hadel who was holding me. Hadel’s red eyes narrowed.
“How long ago did you eat, and you’re already here for more food? And I told you cake is forbidden.”
“Kyu kyu.”
I just came to look, that’s all.
I pretended to whistle and looked away. But wait—if his goal is to fatten me up, why forbid cake?
When I puffed up my cheeks, Hadel tapped them with his index finger.
“You little troublemaker.”
“Kyuu?”
I did cause trouble, but I cleaned everything up?
Apparently the cake ban wasn’t a joke; Hadel started striding in the opposite direction from the cart, carrying me. I wailed mournfully as I bid farewell to the cake.
‘My cake~’
I should have run faster and taken at least one bite. What a shame.
And so, dangling from Hadel’s hand, I was brought back to his room. Looking in the bathroom mirror, I finally understood why Hadel called me a troublemaker.
‘Gasp.’
My body was a complete mess. All four paws were covered in dust and ink, and my tail was black instead of pink.
‘Ah, so that’s why they said I looked different from what they heard.’
Hadel had definitely said I was a weasel with white fur and pink patterns, but what they saw was a weasel with white fur and black patterns—so of course I looked different.
“You got this filthy. I can’t take my eyes off you for a second.”
“Kyuuu.”
That one’s my fault.
‘He won’t ban me from going outside just because I got dirty, right?’
If he issues an outing ban after just one day because I got dirty, I won’t stay quiet. I’ll turn this entire room upside down and make a huge mess.
“Well then…….”
Well then?
Hadel placed me in the empty washbasin. Then he spoke in a calm tone.
“Let’s wash.”
“Kyukyu!”

That crazy action power. Watching Hadel throw off his clothes the moment he finished speaking, I squeezed my eyes shut.
Say it first before stripping!
[This is the timeline separator]The reason Hadel suddenly left the office was because of news that the annex of the castle had frozen over.
He had gone out with a grave expression, wondering if monsters had invaded, but fortunately it was nothing serious—just rainwater leaking into an unused building and freezing.
‘What a scare.’
It was true that the monsters had been unusually quiet this year, which felt ominously like the calm before the storm. It seemed not only Hadel but others felt the same unease.
‘To feel anxious even when monsters don’t appear.’
Just how much longer must we live plagued by this anxiety? Feeling sudden fatigue, Hadel pressed his fingers hard against his eyelids.
Walking beside him, the secretary let out a sigh of relief.
“At least it turned out to be a harmless incident.”
“Indeed.”
That was the end of the conversation. Feeling the awkward silence uncomfortable, the secretary hurried ahead and opened the office door. Then he immediately gasped.
“Heok!”
Wondering what was wrong now, Hadel tensed and quickly entered the office—only to let out a hollow laugh at the sight.
Tiny weasel paw prints were scattered messily all over Hadel’s office.
‘What kind of mischief is this now?’
The small paw prints continued out through the door.
Since the hallway was covered with thick carpet, the prints soon disappeared somewhere. Hadel looked up again and gazed at the desk.
‘I thought the desk would be a mess from spilled ink, but it’s spotless.’
Did it only dip its paws into the ink bottle to get ink on them? He even thought that would be possible for such a clever beast.
After looking around the office, the secretary sighed.
“It’s so small yet it ran around so diligently.”
He was exactly right. The tiny paw prints were scattered messily in every nook and cranny—by the window, on the desk, on the floor.
The floor and window sill were especially problematic. They were made of marble, after all.
‘Cleaning that will be a chore.’
Thinking that, just as the secretary was about to leave the office to fetch a rag, Hadel gave a blunt order.
“Leave those paw prints as they are.”
“Pardon?”
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
