Locking eyes with me, Hadal murmured in a softened tone.

“Well, for now, it seems pointless to skin it, as it wouldn’t even cover my neck.”

There he goes again, playing hot and cold with my emotions!

‘Do you think I’ll fall for that? Planning to talk about skinning me again once I let my guard down?’

I crossed my arms and kept my stern gaze on Hadal.

Go ahead, say it. I’m fully prepared. I won’t be surprised this time.

But the words that reached my ears were about something completely unrelated to skinning.

“Maybe I should fatten it up a bit more before deciding.”

“Vwiio?”

Fatten me up?

At that moment, a bell seemed to ring in my head.

‘More food?’

In that brief moment of realization, memories of my journey in the forest flashed through my mind.

Filling my belly with water, digging up worms only to run away without eating them, drinking more water…

‘And now, you’re offering me food?!’

At this moment, there could be no sweeter words for me.

I waved my short arms in the air, cheering joyously. As I did, Hadal watched me intently, then turned to the knight and asked,

“What do stoats eat?”

Stoats pile up beef on beef. They love pork and chicken too.

‘Quick, say meat!’

I stared at the knight with longing eyes. The knight, after a moment of thought, smiled wryly and responded.

Well, he did mention meat.

“I’ve seen them tearing apart mice.”

“Mice?”

“Vwiioo?!”

…Just not the kind of meat Hadal or I had in mind.

As Hadal and I stood in shocked silence, the knight calmly explained the stoat’s diet.

“In the northern regions, stoats are raised to catch mice. But they’re not commonly bred since they harm chickens and ducks.”

“They attack chickens and ducks?”

“A stoat can hunt a chicken, much larger than itself, once it climbs on it.”

“…….”

Hadal looked at me with a ‘really?’ expression. I frantically shook my head.

Chickens? Of course, I like chicken meat. But hunting them by climbing on them? Impossible!

‘With these small, short claws, I’d have to use my teeth to hunt chickens…’

I decided not to dwell on that thought for the sake of my mental health. It was one of the reasons why I had only insects to choose from as food in the forest.

After pondering for a moment, Hadal asked again,

“What about other foods? Don’t they eat grains like bread?”

“Frogs and fish too. But they prefer mice. I’ve often seen them carrying mice as big as their bodies.”

“……Carnivorous, then?”

Hadal gazed at me again. His lips didn’t move, but his voice seemed to echo in my ears.

‘But why did you enjoy bread so much?’

I felt wronged.

‘I didn’t know!’

That I was a carnivore! Me, a carnivore!

‘What happens to the two chunks of bread I just swallowed?’

Won’t my stomach hurt again like when I summoned the flames and crawled in pain?

As I grimaced, it was then that Hadal, unaware of my turmoil, spoke seriously.

“I wonder if there are any mice in the castle to feed this creature.”

He seemed ready to catch and present mice immediately.

“Vwiio!”

‘No way, I absolutely refuse mice!’

I shook my head vigorously. Sensing my strong resistance, Hadal fell into deep thought.

After a while, he asked the knight,

“……Does eating fish and frogs mean it can swim well?”

“Perhaps?”

“Then, could it hunt on its own if I put it in the pond inside the castle?”
“In the wild, stoats naturally feed that way, don’t they?”

“Then, we can build a stoat house in the middle of the pond…….”

Realizing that my future home might end up being a pond, I protested loudly.

“Vwiio!”

My aversion was obvious. I hate swimming!

‘No way, I despise swimming! My heart is almost stopped, I’ll freeze to death in the water!’

Being a creature of flame, I never liked swimming. Though I had to learn it for unavoidable circumstances in battles.

‘No! Absolutely not!’

Expressing this determination, I glared fiercely at Hadal with blazing eyes. It was then Hadal tilted his head and murmured thoughtfully.

“Strange, isn’t it?”

“Indeed, it is unusual.”

The knight echoed in agreement. I tapped Hadal’s hand with my short front paws, protesting.

‘What’s so strange? There are various kinds of stoats in the world. Some dislike water and don’t hunt frogs.’

Having just learned that I am a stoat, I assertively squeaked in protest, as if representing all stoats in the world. It was then, with narrowed eyes, Hadal gazed intently at me and spoke.

“It seems to understand human speech.”

“Gulp!”

Oops, did I make it too obvious?

Realizing only then that it’s unusual for a stoat to react to every word of human speech, I slumped my shoulders and blinked innocently.

However, the actions I had already displayed made it difficult to shake off suspicion. The knight asked cautiously,

“Could it be a magical beast?”

A magical beast! How hard I fought against them! To be likened to one, even as a stoat, is offensive!

Hadal pressed down on my head with his finger as I growled in protest. Suddenly engulfed in flames, I melted again, just like before.

‘Ah, so warm.’

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
