With Hadel’s words, I realized belatedly that this conversation was just a change in perspective, and it was the same as our previous conversations.

Hadel seemed embarrassed, and I remembered the past when he was awkwardly conscious of something.

‘Uh, I see. So that’s why Hadel kept kicking me out of the room.’

I thought, as a pigeon, I shouldn’t care, but for Hadel, it clearly felt like exposing himself to the opposite sex.

Yes, that’s what it felt like. It’s embarrassing and awkward; I understand that well.

‘But trying to tell me that by turning me into a human is too much!’

I murmured while glancing at Hadel.

“…Mischievous.”

“What?”

Hadel’s eyebrows arched sharply. Did he think I would be embarrassed if he made that expression? I shouted loudly.

“Hadel is mischievous, stupid, and foolish!”

I don’t want to talk to Hadel. I opened Hadel’s room window. Stepping on the window frame as if it were natural, I went outside. When I did that, Hadel stretched his body out of the window, blocking my way, and asked me.

“Where are you going?”

“If you know, what does it matter!”

Answering sharply, Hadel sighed loudly again, turned around abruptly, and muttered.

“Do whatever you want.”

No, instead of stopping me when I was this angry, he just went into his room? ‘Hadel, fool.’

Leaving Hadel behind, I bounced into Hadel’s study. Although it was uncomfortable because the long blanket was wrapped around my legs, it was easy to enter since I had been back and forth many times.

The study was, as always, quiet and dark. I crawled under the desk without unfolding the blanket like a quilt.

‘Oh, being human is more uncomfortable.’

When I was a pigeon, I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all squatting under here, but now it was stifling. The shoulder touching the carpet was stiff, and the cold coming up from the floor felt more intense than when I was a pigeon.

‘Oh, feel sorry for yourself.’

It was cold and uncomfortable, and tears rolled down involuntarily. Why do I have to do this; even tears came out.

I was sobbing like that when I fell into a deep sleep.

The reason I opened my eyes again was because of the subtle movement in front of me. I don’t know how it was moved, but I was lying on Hadel’s thigh. A book fell off the shelf above my head.

‘Huh? Hadel?’

The fact that he was flipping through a book meant that this was Hadel’s study. There was no soft sofa-like thing in the study, though.

‘But there is a hard sofa without a cushion where you could just put out, right? I didn’t crouch under the desk for no reason.’

And the blanket covering my body wasn’t the thin blanket I had tucked in and ran away with but a soft quilt. Feeling moved, I squeezed my fingers.
‘Did he bring the blanket for me? Offering his thigh because there’s no pillow?’

So, he knew I was hiding in the study.

From the moment I realized Hadel’s consideration, my heart throbbed with a pleasant sound. I quietly opened my eyes and secretly observed Hadel from below.

‘Wow, look at that jawline. I already thought it was sharp, but seeing it from below, it’s even more firm and sharp.’

The neck is thicker than I thought, and the eyes are large, agile, like a wolf.

Right at that moment, Hadel’s gaze turned towards me. I pretended not to be awake and tightly closed my eyes.

His fingers gently touched my crumpled forehead. The delicate touch, like touching cotton candy, made my whole face ticklish.

For a moment, Hadel, who was looking down at my face, muttered in a low voice.

“… Fool.”

Upon hearing those words, I almost forgot to pretend to be asleep and almost pursed my lips.

‘Who’s calling who a fool?’

Earlier, he didn’t care, and now he’s the one who is here?

‘Hadel is the real fool.’

Forgetting the frustration I felt earlier, I closed my eyes with a contented heart. Sleep came rushing like waves.
