Blinking my eyes, her face turned red like a radish in an instant. Whether it was a strange question for her to think about, she turned around in a hurry.

“Oh, it’s nothing.”

“Ah! Um…”

Perhaps she knows a lot about Prince Birds. I was about to ask various questions, but she ran away before I could catch her.

There wasn’t much of a conversation. Scratching my head, I entered the palace. Hadel, who saw my restless face, hurriedly approached.

“Marian?”

“Oh, Hadel.”
“What’s wrong? Did something happen in the garden? Shouldn’t I have gone with you?”

“No. There’s nothing dangerous. The garden is visible from here anyway.”

It feels awkward when Hadel suddenly becomes overly protective. I clapped my hands.

“It seems like our rumors are spreading within the palace.”

“Rumors?”

“Yeah, so a girl who looks like me came to meet me.”

As I explained the situation, a sudden thought crossed my mind.

‘Since the king won’t easily meet me, why not gather information through people who come looking for me!’

With that goal in mind, I decided to spend an hour alone in the garden every day. Hadel wanted to follow me, but I persuaded him.

“It’ll be difficult for people to approach if you’re there. Don’t worry; the garden is visible even from the windows. Leave it to me.”

So, for another three days, I sat alone in the garden. However, contrary to my expectations, no one approached me in the garden. Even if someone happened to come, they only watched from a distance and ran away.

‘Ah, it’s not as fun as I thought. Except for that girl on the first day, no one has come up to me.’

Was sitting in the garden not a good choice? When I was starting to get tired and considering giving up, he came to find me.

“Nice to meet you, miss.”

It was a polite greeting, but his blue eyes looking down at me were intimidating. Under the sunlight, his silver hair shone brightly.

I called his name with a tense voice.

“…Prince Birds.”

Where is the final boss suddenly appearing from!

The sun was shining brightly, but the two of us stared at each other without saying a word. I swallowed a sigh that came out involuntarily.

‘Oh, I wasn’t here for him to show up!’

I tried to get information, but what do I do when the person in question appears? For now, I cautiously surveyed his surroundings. Fortunately, or unfortunately, he didn’t bring any soldiers with him.

‘It seems like he didn’t come to take me away.’

But it’s too early to be relieved. His mana with ice attributes is vast, and I’m not in a position to spew out flames recklessly like in my previous life.

‘I need to contact Hadel…’

If Prince Birds knew I was here, he probably wouldn’t have left me alone so easily.

‘And what’s with that appearance?’

While avoiding eye contact, I sneakily glanced down at Prince Birds’ chest. There, a large bouquet of flowers was nestled as big as his torso. It was a lush bouquet made up of vivid and beautiful flowers.

‘Doesn’t really suit someone with ice attributes.’

A person who can freeze living flowers and carry them around, but carrying a bouquet? However, it matched well with his delicate appearance.

‘Instead of experimenting on people, he raises flowers.’
It was when I thought about it that I lightly twisted my lips. Prince Birds strangely asked me in a curious tone,

“Could you call me once more?”

“What for?”

“To tell you who I am.”

Why would he want me to call his name again, especially when I’ve already done so? I raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

“You have a strange hobby.”

Even though I teased him, for some reason, he seemed quite pleased.

“It’s nice to hear my name in your voice.”

I almost died from the smell in the north, but facing him, smiling so charmingly at me in the palace, sent shivers down my spine.

‘What’s wrong with him?’

Is it Espen? Or not?

Since I haven’t received a clear answer about his identity yet, I was confused about how to handle the situation.

While staring at him with a slightly puzzled expression, I opened my mouth. Perhaps due to the twisted emotions, the words that came out were somewhat blunt.

“Why do you use honorifics? Just speak comfortably.”

“It doesn’t matter to me… Ah, is it not your preference to use honorifics?”

Ah, what the hell is this. Ask such questions to your fiancée.

I clenched my fist and responded sarcastically.

“Is my preference important?”

Interestingly, Prince Birds was serious.

“It is important.”

What a strange thought.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
