The next day.

“Lamein. Lamein?”

“Yes? Yes!”

As she opened her eyes and turned her head,

“What are you thinking about?”

Cedric was looking at her with a puzzled expression.

After having breakfast, they were having teatime together.

Killian and Elina, who were sitting across from her, were also looking at her with puzzled expressions.

She had been thinking about the dream she had in the library the day before, so she didn’t even realize someone was calling her.

“I’m sorry. I was just thinking about something. Why?”

“Cedric and I were told that the books we ordered have arrived at the bookstore. We were talking about going to the bookstore together.”

Elina answered instead of Cedric.

“My brother says he has an external schedule and can’t go with us.”

Cedric said afterward.

For a moment, Lamein glanced at Killian.

Killian was drinking tea with a composed expression.

“Go to the bookstore together?”

As Lamein turned her gaze back to Cedric, Cedric nodded his head.

In other words,

It meant that she had to go out with the remarriageprohibited couple.

‘I really don’t like this uncomfortable combination.’

While she was thinking about how to refuse, at that moment,

“Lamein. Wouldn’t it be better for you to rest since you’re not feeling well?”

Duchess Roger spoke in an angelic voice.

She had heard that the Duchess was disappointed that she was not pregnant.

And she had instructed that everything she ate from now on should be made with only the best ingredients.

“Considering that you fainted last time and just looking at yesterday’s incident, it seems like your strength has weakened a lot. It would be good to be careful.”

With another angelic voice, a worried look was directed at her.

Knowing why she was worried about her, feeling slightly sorry,

“Yes. I think I should rest today.”

She gratefully accepted the Duchess’s words.

“Alright. Cedric and Elina, you two go.”

At his wife’s words, Cedric’s gaze flicked over.

A feeling of watching the whims of a wife who talks nonsense with him and has remarriageprohibited something.

Although he didn’t like the idea of the two going out together, not knowing what nonsense Elina might say.

“Cedric. Go well with Elina.”

Because of a nagging dream, she didn’t want to move a step.

“I will do so. You should rest.”

Lamein nodded her head and turned her eyes to the front. And,

“Elina. I’m sorry I can’t go with you. Let’s go out together next time.”

Killian, looking at her with eyes so sweet that honey seemed to drip,

“It’s because I’m busy with work. It can’t be helped.”

And Elina, smiling like a sunflower, looking at her as she slightly narrowed her eyes.

.

.

.

She heard from Jane that Cedric and Elina had gone out.

‘I need to take a walk.’

She got out of the bed where she had been sitting all morning and headed for the garden.

“Ah. I feel like I can live now.”

She took a deep breath of the wood scent that flowed with the wind.

Her head was about to crack from holding on to a dream that she couldn’t remember properly.

“What was that eerie sensation?”

A black night sky without a single star, like space.

A chillingly spreading murmur.

The only two things she remembered were those.

It was the first dream she had since coming into this world.

“Ah. Let’s stop thinking about it.”

She felt a headache coming on again, so she took a deep breath and walked along the tree shade when,

“Lamein.”

Killian’s voice came from behind.

When she turned her head, Killian, who had stopped, approached.

‘Has he not gone out yet?’

She looked straight at him, slightly lifting the corners of her mouth.

“You seem to be taking a walk.”

Killian always spoke to her with respect.

It meant that he was uncomfortable.

Lamein was also uncomfortable with him.

Though always calm and polite in his expression, he was a man whose inner thoughts were not easily read.

To be honest, since he didn’t speak well, she was puzzled that he had called her now.

“Killian. I didn’t know you were still in the mansion.”

“I was about to leave.”

“Ah. I see.”

Lamein finished speaking, slightly pushing her lips into a smile, and took a step back.

It meant she had nothing to say and was telling him to pass by.

“I have something to say for a moment.”

Killian said in a low voice, his feet rooted to the ground.
Lamein, who was staring distantly, slightly narrowed her eyes.

‘What is she trying to say by looking at me like that?’

The gaze of Killian, stuck to my face, was more serious than ever.

“Yes. Killian. Speak.”

She pushed up her eyelids sensitively without losing her smile.

“I thought I must talk about this someday. Today seems good.”

“What about?”

“How about changing your attitude towards Ellina?”

Killian tried to maintain quite a polite demeanor, but he couldn’t hide the discomfort in his eyes.

Lamein, who had been looking at her sideways, suddenly let out a thin sigh.

“Did Ellina say something? Or did she tell you to talk to me? So that’s why you’re doing this?”

“No.”

What’s not?

‘That’s not it, and you talk to me first?’

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
