“How could twins be so different?”
“One seems to have received all the blessings of the gods, while the other…”
The sound of footsteps echoed.
Tanashia halted her steps towards the party hall and glanced at the people whispering about her.
When she turned around, she realized that everyone was looking at her. It wasn’t just a few whispers.
Everyone gathered here was laughing at Tanashia. No matter how much they hid behind their fans, they couldn’t hide their glances.
Born as the twin sisters of the Breloff Duke family, blessed by the gods.
The younger sister, Noxia, was a stunning beauty, with brilliant silver hair and a dolllike appearance that even gave a holy impression to those who looked at her.
In contrast, Tanashia, the elder sister, was utterly ordinary, with jetblack hair and a gloomy atmosphere, hardly believable they shared the same face with Noxia.
Their abilities were as different as their appearances.

From a young age, Noxia inherited a rare talent from the family that almost disappeared, freely manipulating one of the four elements, water.
On the other hand, Tanashia had no abilities at all.
If there hadn’t been a comparison, it would have been tolerable. But since birth, Tanashia and Noxia were weighed against each other, and Tanashia was always the loser.
People referred to them as the light and shadow. Noxia, who received all the blessings of the gods, and Tanashia, who had nothing.
The gossipy society wouldn’t miss such an interesting topic.
As Noxia became more famous, the mockery returned to Tanashia.
So today’s incident wasn’t unusual.
Everyone gathered here as always expected Tanashia to droop her shoulders and flee. As they saw her like that, the others would laugh at her even louder.
But…
Tanashia stood tall against everyone’s expectations, silently looking at the people who had been mocking her.

There was an oddly charismatic feel in her blue eyes, calm as a still surface.
One second, two seconds, three seconds… Ten seconds.
As time passed, no one dared to speak, and silence followed.
Tanashia, however, was still the daughter of the Breloff Duke family, the center of power. They could gossip behind her back, but they couldn’t ignore her blatantly.
“What did you say just now? It sounded like something about me, but I couldn’t hear well. Why don’t you say it again?”
At present, Tanashia was 15 years old. Despite her age, there was a strange fierceness in her questioning.
When no one answered, Tanashia’s gaze turned to a lady who had been gossiping with much enthusiasm.
The lady feigned ignorance, trying to ignore the situation, but under the silent pressure from Tanashia, she finally responded.
“Well, what I said… I don’t quite remember…”
“You said one is perfect as if blessed by all the gods. And the other? Isn’t that about me?”

Since Tanashia had never stood out in front of people like this before, everyone couldn’t hide their surprise.
“I… I merely meant that I am looking forward to Lady Tanashia’s growth.”
As she watched the lady flounder with feeble excuses, Tanashia offered a sarcastic smile unlike her usual self.
Dark hair as deep as black ink, skin as white as white jade, today, for some reason, Tanashia’s aura seemed different.
A few people’s gaze was drawn by her subtle and bewitching charm.
“Listen carefully to what I am going to say now.”
Tanashia’s blue eyes scanned the nobles in the party hall. Unlike usual, she was confident and undeterred.
“If there is any gossip behind my back again…”
Her rosecolored lips moved slowly.
“No matter who it is, I will tear that mouth apart.”

Whispers arose.
It was so radical, people couldn’t believe that these words had come from the usually timid Tanashia.
As she gazed at the startled nobles, Tanashia added as if to confirm a kill.
“If you are curious about what I will do, try gossiping again.”
Leaving these ominous words behind, Tanashia walked away as if nothing had happened.
Those left behind could only watch Tanashia’s receding figure, their faces not filled with their usual scorn but confusion.

My last memory was of quitting the longdesired company job and taking a solo trip to celebrate it.
And just like that, the airplane that had just taken off exploded.
At the prime age of 27, she had died.
‘I was just about to take a break, and now death…?’
This was the first holiday in my life that I ran like a racehorse. But before I could dip my toe in the water, an accident occurred.
Raised without parents, I had run with gritted teeth for success since maturity.
I thought that the only answer to avoid the pitying and dismissive gaze of those around me was success…
Looking back, I never really enjoyed life.
It was empty.
A sense of unknown resentment made my eyes hot, but I couldn’t reverse what had already happened.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
