“What is the matter?”

The silence that had been flowing for a moment was broken by Peiron’s soft question.

Sandes quietly observed him.

He looked so gloomy that one could not recall the smug face he had when Erina left the Iolls family.

Looking closely, the sunken eyes and lifeless appearance gave an idea of how tired he was.

“Lord Marquis.”

Sandes, who had been lost in thought while observing him, answered Peiron’s call.

“I just wanted to ask.”

“What do you mean?”

“Did you really volunteer for the troops without any reason?”

Peiron was curious about Sandes’ intention in stopping him as he was about to leave and asking again.

But he had to focus more on carrying out what Rose had asked of him.

“I told you. It’s to atone for my past actions.”

“You?”

Sandes said with a sneer, deliberately trying to grate on his nerves.

Peiron realized that he was doing this on purpose to confirm something.

The gloomy reality ahead suppressed his pride that wanted to refute, and made Peiron remain silent.

“The Count is quite impressive.”

“Lord Marquis.”

“Trying to make a comeback by hiding behind others. Did you give your pride to a passing dog?”

Peiron’s eyes, which didn’t even answer, strangely sank deeper and deeper.

Sandes sensed that there was definitely something in his appearance.

It was quite strange that he didn’t react at all even after being provoked to this extent.

“If you’re done talking, I’ll be going.”

Peiron turned away from Sandes and moved to leave as he had been about to do.

Sandes felt as if he could see darkness lingering thickly behind Peiron’s back.

The eyes of Peiron, who had turned his back, and Sandes, who was quietly watching him, shone dangerously with different thoughts.

[This is the timeline separator]

“My lady, a letter has arrived from the Kerenik Marquis family.”

Erina received a neat letter from Terik and read it.

[ To my beloved Erina. Tula and Trumto have attacked the borders of the empire. Count Iolls immediately requested deployment from His Majesty. His reaction seems a bit unusual to say it’s for regaining honor. I’m keeping an eye on Rose Asila, but please be careful. ]

The elegantly written letter seemed to have been written by Sandes himself.

Feeling his worry and concern in every letter, Erina unconsciously stroked the words written on the letter.

“The palace is noisy now as they’re drafting troops and preparing.”

“Is only the Imperial Knights moving?”

“It seems so. His Majesty hasn’t given separate deployment orders to the nobles.”

“What about the troops of the two kingdoms?”

“It’s reported to be about 600 in total.”

“Ha.”

Erina couldn’t hide the involuntary laugh that came out of disbelief.

There had never been a time in history when such a force was sent even for small wars between minor kingdoms.

Erina could tell without directly checking how desperately they had prepared the troops.

They must have recklessly proceeded, thinking it was the last attempt at Rose’s command.

“The border area will be wrapped up quickly.”

“It seems it will be concluded as soon as the troops arrive, since the Imperial Knights are directly dispatched.”

“It will end as a war that’s not really a war.”

Terik nodded in agreement with Erina’s words.

It was too crude to be called a war, and it was embarrassing to even attach the word ‘war’ to it.

Enzo must have thought so too, as he didn’t even announce it to the nobles.

“His Majesty seems to be more concerned about the 5th Knight Division guarding you than the troops to be sent to the border.”

Just a little while ago, Barun had said that Enzo had ordered to strengthen the guard.

Barun also said that once all the troops heading to the border have departed, they will reorganize the knight division once again.

“Was there no contact from the Asila family?”

“Actually, that’s what I came to discuss.”

Erina’s face hardened at Terik’s ominous expression.

Could there be a problem with the status of another person infiltrating the Asila family?

“Rose Asila has collapsed and a doctor has come and gone.”

Erina tilted her head at this unexpected issue.

“Why?”

“It seems to be pregnancy.”

“Pregnancy?”

Erina asked again in surprise and searched her memories.

Clearly, Rose had not been pregnant until Erina died in the previous regression.

Moreover, even in their appearance heading towards destruction after her death, there was no mention of Rose being with child.

If Rose had been pregnant, the minor kingdom alliance would have at least said something to bless the new descendant of the fairy.

Certainly, everything was continuing differently from before the regression.

“Is this information certain?”

“It’s certain as it’s information from a servant who delivered magic stones to the butler for the use of diagnostic artifacts.”

If it was the words of a servant who was present when the doctor was there, it was certain.

It seemed a bit unexpected.

The Rose that Erina remembered from before the regression was a meticulous and cunning person.

The current Rose was somewhat careless, unlike then.

She wondered if the reason was simply because of the prophecy.

“What about her subsequent movements?”

“She met with Count Iolls and returned to the mansion.”

Peiron would have said he would deploy to the border after hearing from Rose.

Was Peiron’s deployment according to their plan to regain honor, or because of the sudden news of pregnancy?

“Please pay a little more attention to Rose’s whereabouts for the time being.”

“I’ve already assigned more people to that.”

“Is there anything else I need to know?”

“The Marquis Kerenik said he would wait for contact, saying there was content he couldn’t convey in the hastily written letter.”

“Thank you, Baron Semul.”

Terik handed over the documents to Erina with a faint smile and left the office.

The documents Erina received from Terik contained detailed information about Rose’s whereabouts.

After examining them closely, Erina pushed the documents aside and picked up a square mirror placed on one side of the desk.

When she took out a small magic stone from the drawer on the right side of the desk and placed it on the mirror, the surface of the mirror that had been reflecting the front turned light purple.

The rippling light purple wavered like ripples and began to reflect someone.

[ Erina. ]

It was the best of communication artifacts, an artifact that could have real-time conversations with the other person.

The only drawback was that it continuously consumed magic stones, but it wasn’t particularly a concern for Sandes and Erina.

“Sandes.”

Although not as clear as if standing next to her, it was clear enough to recognize the other person’s face.

Erina felt her complicated and noisy heart becoming calm at the sight of her beloved in the mirror.

Erina traced Sandes’ face reflected in the mirror with her finger.

It felt as if she could vividly feel the light brown hair scattering through her fingers.

Sandes gently smiled at Erina’s action of rubbing the mirror with her finger and moved his finger in the same way.

Erina understood the saying that you miss someone even while looking at them.

[ It’s a bit troublesome if you look at me so lovingly. ]

“Hmm? Why?”

[ It makes me want to rush over right away. ]

Erina giggled and tapped her finger towards his finger moving the same way in the mirror.

“Sandes is welcome anytime, anywhere.”

Sandes also traced over the artifact as her face turned lovingly.

As if not wanting to forget how she looked at him, he moved slowly, as if engraving it.

[ Actually, the thing I said I couldn’t write everything in the letter was a bit of an excuse. ]

“What?”

[ I think I just wanted to see you like this. ]

The mirror showing Sandes suddenly started flickering.

Erina quickly took out another magic stone from the drawer and absorbed it into the mirror.

Erina slightly pulled the mirror with a satisfied face as it became clear again.

[ Actually, I was with him when he came to request deployment from His Majesty. ]

“You mean Peiron Iolls?”

[ Yes, that’s right. His Majesty asked if he would deploy even if there was no honor to regain. ]

According to what Coni and Serene had told her at the time, there were two reasons why Rose used the minor kingdom alliance to shake the empire.

One was to divert attention to deal with her, and the other was for Peiron to regain his lost honor by clearing up the minor kingdom alliance stationed at the border.

If Peiron had moved after talking with Rose, he would have hesitated to answer Enzo’s words.

[ He just answered without hesitation that he was moving to atone for his past actions. ]

“That man?”

[ He seemed different from usual, so I followed him and had a conversation. He seemed like a completely different person from before. As if… ]

As Sandes trailed off, Erina recalled Peiron who had come to see her not long ago.

When she remembered him coming and brazenly shouting to save Rose from the mud, Erina’s face involuntarily turned cold.

[ Like a person facing his last days. ]

“That can’t be.”

It was absolutely impossible.

That selfish and self-centered man who only knew himself would not voluntarily go on a path to die.

“He might be planning something else.”

[ Erina. ]

“That man came to me begging to save her even though he knew Rose was trying to kill me.”

Sandes was startled.

“You’re saying such a man is going to his death voluntarily? No, that’s absolutely impossible.”

Erina’s face was filled with blue anger, not even wanting to mention Peiron’s name.

Seeing Erina’s appearance, Sandes stopped mentioning him further.

[ Please be careful, Erina. ]

“You be careful too, Sandes.”

The communication that had been silent for a moment ended with their mutual concern.

Male lead is a clingy little husband

One-line summary: The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

Introduction:

One day, Lu Yuner’s soul transmigrates into a female-dominant world. She enters the Imperial Academy and takes up the position of a doctoral instructor, teaching classes and grading schoolwork.

One day, she encounters the young prince Su Qingwan secretly skipping class from the male academy.

As a result, Su Qingwan is punished.

From then on, Su Qingwan sees Lu Yuner as a “thorn in his side”.

But before long, this “thorn” becomes the person he cherishes most, and he goes to great lengths to win Lu Yuner’s affection.

Mini scene 1:

One day, the sun is high in the sky but Su Qingwan still hasn’t gotten up for class.

Servant Xiaoyuan: “Young prince, it’s time for class. You’ll be late otherwise.”

Su Qingwan says arrogantly: “I’m not going. I am the esteemed prince, my status is so noble, why should I suffer this hardship? Besides, isn’t learning all this just to please women? Hmph, they’re not worthy!”

Mini scene 2:

After Su Qingwan falls for someone, he completely changes. He no longer skips class and diligently learns how to be a good husband and father. But he discovers that Sister Yuner is always surrounded by admirers.

Drunk and overcome with jealousy one day, he clings to Lu Yuner, crying beautifully like a pear blossom in the rain.

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan likes Sister Yuner.”

Lu Yuner: “Young prince, you’re drunk.”

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan isn’t drunk. Qingwan likes Sister Yuner, likes you so much, likes you to bits…” Before he can finish, Lu Yuner’s eyes flash with emotion and she leans in closer.

[Reading Guide]

1. The female lead is gentle, gracious, humble and polite but not weak. The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

2. 1v1, a bit torturous in the beginning but definitely sweet later on.
