What did you do to the kid? In the blink of an eye, Noah had reverted to being a well-mannered little one, as if puberty had never existed.

“Thank you.”

As I calmly accepted his thanks, I looked at Edan with curiosity. Edan shrugged his shoulders lightly, as if nothing had happened. At that moment, Noah lifted his head with a pout, his warm golden eyes gazing out the window.

“Ah! Snow!”

At his sudden shout, Edan, Dante, and I all turned to look outside. Noah and I quickly rushed to the window. When I flung the window open, a chilly gust of cold wind blew in. Soft, pure white snowflakes fluttered down from the sky.

Apparently, the snow clouds lingering over the mountain range had finally drifted down to us.

“Edan! It’s snowing!”

When I swiftly turned my head, Edan stretched his arm out the window and nimbly moved his hand through the air. Then, clutching something, he quickly thrust his closed fist toward me.

“What is it?”

“The first snow.”

Edan smiled lightly and opened his hand. Naturally, the tiny snowflake had already melted and vanished. But I pretended to gather and hold it in my own hands, as if the first snow still remained on his palm.

“I’ve received it—the first snow.”

Though I’d merely humored his childish prank, Edan looked immensely pleased and patted my head.

Once it began falling, the snow swiftly summoned a blizzard.

At the very moment when snow poured down so heavily that visibility vanished, Noah dashed outside and spun around like a puppy, hopping and twirling in place.
