Seeing him like this for the first time, I grew cautious.

“Where is it?”
“In the drawer of the sitting room.”

Watching his retreating back as he flicked droplets from his wet shirt sleeves, I suddenly remembered something I’d forgotten.

Edan’s true wounds weren’t the cuts on his body—but the searing agony caused by psychic ability side effects.
He understood this pain better than anyone else. So even if I was merely a maid, his hypersensitive reaction made sense.
