“We need to confirm, and there won’t be time other than that.”

Jeremy seemed a bit hesitant, but he nodded in agreement.

“I will comply with the Duchess’s words.”

Whether it was because Sicar threatened to turn the gem into dust or for another reason, Jeremy became respectful again.

“So, may I ask for your assistance in measuring the garment size?”

“Of course.”

Sicar took out a tape measure, extended it tightly, and said, “Now, stand still quietly.”

Jeremy, who seemed to have understood a bit late, spoke with a bewildered expression a few seconds later.

“What? Stand, still… Don’t tell me, Duchess, you’re not trying to measure my garment size, are you?”

What should I do? Sicar seems completely tense because he might measure his garment size.

“Well, then I’ll measure it. Would my stern wife measure it?”

“Then, I won’t do this. I won’t.”

Jeremy seemed extremely tense, as if he feared Sicar would measure his garment size. Just measuring the garment size seems to be disliked so much.

Sicar instinctively touched his waist, confirmed that there was no sword, and then approached Jeremy step by step.

“There’s no withdrawal, Jeremy.”

As Sicar approached step by step, Jeremy also stepped back one step at a time.

“Still, I cannot let the Duchess measure my body with a tape measure.”

What a ridiculous thought. Do I look like I would personally measure your body one by one? I’ll only measure the full-length you can’t measure yourself.

“Well, you can measure it alone, so I’ll measure it myself. Duchess.”

Then, Sicar tossed the tape measure toward Jeremy.

“Really? Then try measuring it yourself.”

At that moment, the tape measure Sicar carelessly threw stopped right in front of Jeremy.
“Yes, Duchess.”

Jeremy didn’t touch the tape measure with his hands, but the tape measure seemed to move on its own, as if it had a will of its own, and it began measuring Jeremy’s dimensions.

Oh, come to think of it, Jeremy is a wizard, right? I knew he was a wizard, but I hadn’t thought about this, so it was fascinating.

Jeremy handed the tape measure and the paper with the dimensions written on it to Sicar, saying, “I have measured everything, Duchess.”

“It’s simple and good.”

“Then, we’ll take our leave now. Rest well, Jeremy.”

“Uh, but… If it’s not impolite, may I ask where Duchess is from, if she hasn’t violated any rules?”

Since I had no place in mind as the hometown to answer such a question, I was a little worried about what to say when Sicar scowled.

“If you want to keep your flesh in good condition, shut that mouth of yours.”

“Well, I just found the Duchess’s black eyes beautiful…”

“I told you to shut your mouth.”

When Sicar confronted someone with such a stern expression, the air itself seemed to freeze coldly.

Thanks to that, I could only be tense to the point where I couldn’t even breathe properly.

“Sorry, Duchess. Please forgive me.”

“Don’t play with that mouth again, Jeremy.”

Sicar took my hand and carefully helped me up. Perhaps he thought I was surprised because of my tension.

Sicar didn’t let go of my hand even as we walked out. Until we left, Jeremy kept his head bowed.

In the original work, he was described as having a playful and cheerful personality, but it seemed that even he felt a chill in front of the villain.

As we walked down the corridor, Sicar spoke while still holding my hand.

“Is all that’s left now making the uniforms? It’s really full of troublesome tasks.”

We had to eat the food Sicar brought from the restaurant tonight. After finishing dinner, we started making the uniforms.

Sicar, who had made a dreadful expression as if making uniforms was a terrible task, was now carefully sewing with a careful look, as if he had found a new taste.

In the original work, Sicar was described as concentrating with a serious expression when he sharpened and polished his sword, so it was interesting to see him focused on sewing.

When I tried to sew, Sicar took the fabric away with a cautious look, as if warning not to blemish his perfect work.

“I’ll do the sewing, so you just make the outline.”

“It must be difficult to do it alone?”

This was really a worry, but Sicar answered as if he didn’t want such concerns.

“It’s fine. If you do it, the straight stitches will be a mess like sewing a sewing machine with a zigzag stitch. I’ll do it alone.”

Then he showed a careful focus on sewing again.

‘He has definitely found his own taste.’
So I made a uniform. It wasn’t easy, but it seemed more suitable for me to weave threads than to sew.

“Is it doable?”

“Yeah. It’s more doable than sewing.”

“No. Not that.”

“Not that? What then?”

“Is it doable to be Kian’s mom?”

Of course, Kian was so lovable and heartwarming that sometimes he felt like my own child, making it more than doable. He was truly an adorable child.

“Of course. I think there’s no child like Kian anywhere in the world.”

“Then, is being my wife doable?”

He threw the question at me, but since he didn’t even look at me and just kept sewing, I gave him an incredulous look.

“Why are you asking about that?”

Sicar smiled and spoke without looking at me.

“I think being your husband is more than doable.”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
