Kaisel’s house was not far from the small village of Repher, so they could arrive quickly.

Yura, who had dismounted from her horse, wore a dazed expression before shaking her head as if to pull herself together.

By shaking her head unnecessarily, her already wind-tousled hair became even more tangled.

“No one’s around to see, but your hair is in such a mess.”

Sikar reached out to neatly smooth Yura’s hair while gazing toward Kaisel’s cabin.

In front of the small cabin in the field, thick, uncut grass grew wildly all the way up to the outer walls, making it look as though no one lived there.

If they hadn’t known Kaisel was staying here, they never would have guessed anyone actually lived in this place—it showed no signs of human presence at all.

Sikar halted just before entering the cabin with Yura and looked around to see if there was anything nearby to sit on.

Spotting a wooden oak barrel, Sikar brought it over and laid a handkerchief he pulled from his pocket neatly on top.

“You wait here for a moment.”

Yura glanced at the handkerchief laid over the oak barrel and decided it would be better to follow him inside than to wait alone in this empty, open space.

“I’ll come in with you too.”

Though she pretended otherwise outwardly, she was a gentle-hearted woman; if she witnessed something gruesome, she might very well faint.

“If you want to see something unpleasant, then come along.”

Seeing Yura turn her head away as if having nothing more to say, Sikar gave a faint chuckle and entered the cabin.
