“Ah. Thank you.”
“No need for thanks. Have a good time.”
Ji Hoon waved lightly and started the car.
“Huh? Why are you going into the officetel’s parking lot?”
Su Ah looked puzzled when Ji Hoon’s car, which she thought would go onto the road, entered the officetel’s parking lot.
“Ji Hoon also lives in this officetel.”
Ah, she had only thought they were going in the same direction, not the same place.
Su Ah nodded her head.
“I was worried about the public transportation being tough, but it’s a relief since I came with Ji Hoon.”
“That’s true. Thanks to the team leader, I came very comfortably.”
“Next time, we’ll just depart from the company together. I’ll find a way to not get caught by the employees.”
Ha Joon, who was well aware of the commuting situation even though he had never used public transportation, did not want to subject Su Ah to that kind of hell.
“I appreciate your thought, Ha Joon, but you don’t have to. It’s quick if I can hitch a ride with the team leader like this.”
“But, Ji Hoon might not have the time….”
“Then I can just take the bus.”
Su Ah quickly cut off Ha Joon’s words and continued speaking.
“However I come, the journey to meet you, Ha Joon, is exhilarating in itself, so it’s not hard at all.”
At Su Ah’s confessionlike words, the corners of Ha Joon’s stiff mouth twitched.
“How can I resist when you speak so sweetly? I’ll fall for you again today.”
“Who says it’s just for today? I’ll make you fall for me every day. Look forward to it.”
Su Ah spread her palms under her chin and sparkled her eyes.
“Yes, I’m looking forward to it.”
Their eyes met, filled with a pink glow.

Ha Joon’s car slowly entered the cinema parking lot.
“Are we watching a movie today?”
“I have a recommended movie.”
A recommended movie.
What movies were currently showing?
Romance? Action? Or perhaps horror?
As she wondered about Ha Joon’s taste, the two had arrived in front of the selfticketing machine.
‘Touch the screen, press the reservation number……’
Ha Joon, who had thoroughly read the cinema review, was trying his best to act naturally, so as not to reveal that this was his first time.
Su Ah’s gaze followed Ha Joon’s fingertips, beginning to scrutinize the title of the movie.
A moment later, her eyes widened upon confirming the title.
Huh? This movie…..

She had seen it on the news a few days ago.
It was a zombie movie that was unusually successful despite being released in the spring, unlike horror movies that typically premiered in the summer.
Who recommended a zombie movie to him?
Curiosity arched her eyebrows, but when she turned to meet Ha Joon’s eyes, Su Ah gave a bright smile.
“I’ll go buy the popcorn.”
Su Ah pointed to the snack bar.
“No, Su Ah, you just stay here. I’ll take care of the rest. What kind of drink would you like?”
“Cola is a must in the cinema.”
Is cola a given in the cinema? Then I should drink cola too.
Ha Joon’s eyes widened as if he’d learned a new fact from Su Ah’s words.
“I’ll be back quickly, so please sit and wait for a while.”
Ha Joon gently pushed Su Ah to sit in a chair and hurriedly moved towards the snack bar.
“Two colas and one popcorn, please.”
[Two drinks, one popcorn. One, definitely one!]
Recalling Ji Hoon’s emphasis on the number of popcorns, Ha Joon completed the order.
The two entered the cinema together.

“L row, L row, ah! I found it……”
Ha Joon, carrying the popcorn and drinks, had to stop as Su Ah, who was leading with the tickets, halted her steps.
What’s that? Those pink seats? Did I read the seat numbers wrong?
Su Ah alternated between looking at the tickets and the seats as she confirmed their spot.
“That seems to be the right seat.”
“Huh? Yes. It seems so.”
Su Ah, who had been blinking in surprise, calmly followed Ha Joon, who was walking towards the seats.
Thus, the two of them sat in the couple seats.
Not long after they sat down, the movie started, and darkness descended all around them.
Rustle, rustle.
As if on cue, the sound of people eating popcorn could be heard from all directions.
Feeling awkward, Ha Joon stealthily glanced around before reaching out for the popcorn.

…Ah!
Realizing that what his fingertips touched was Su Ah’s hand, Ha Joon quickly withdrew his hand in surprise.
“I, I’m sorry.”
Flustered, he began to sip his cola,
when Su Ah leaned her body towards him.
Then she whispered softly into his ear.
“That’s why we eat popcorn.”
Laying her hand atop Ha Joon’s, which seemed to be far away, Su Ah gave him a bright smile.
“…..”
Ha Joon could only stare straight ahead, unable to look at Su Ah.
Was it because his view was blocked?
Even though holding hands didn’t seem like much when they were sitting so close, the soft sensation he felt from his sensitized touch still felt very real.
‘So that’s why they said to only buy one popcorn.’
Ha Joon felt relieved that the darkness in the theater allowed him to hide his flushed face.

As the movie reached its midway point, zombies started to pop out from here and there.
“Kyah!”
With a single scream, Su Ah, who had covered her eyes with her hands, buried her head in Ha Joon’s shoulder.
“Has the zombie passed? Is it still there?”
Su Ah, still burying her head, asked urgently.
He wasn’t particularly surprised by a few zombies popping out, but strangely, his whole body responded to Su Ah’s movements.
Ha Joon, relaxing his tension, turned his head towards Su Ah.
“It hasn’t passed yet. It keeps appearing.”
It was a lie.
The zombie had bitten a person and disappeared, but Ha Joon ended up lying that it was still appearing.
“It’s still there? Even now?”
She kept asking while exhaling warm breath, and Ha Joon now seemed to understand why Ji Hoon had recommended this movie.
Regretting his past recklessness of complaining about why he had to watch such a movie with Su Ah, it was the moment he decided to heed any advice from Ji Hoon in the future.

“It has passed now.”
At Ha Joon’s words, Su Ah opened her real eyes and looked at the screen.
“I, I’m sorry. I was so scared that I just…”
Su Ah quickly sat up and found her spot.
This time, Ha Joon approached Su Ah and whispered in her ear.
“That’s why we watch movies.”

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
