“Hey! He must not live in this neighborhood. Our only chance is today. Let’s go and ask for his contact. Let’s go. Let’s go.”
Simultaneously with their words, the students rushed out in an instant.
Su Ah’s gaze followed the backs of the girls and soon turned to Ha Joon.
Wow.
An exclamation that had nothing to do with her will flowed out from between Su Ah’s open lips.
The sight of him reading a book was like a page straight out of a fashion magazine.
His hair was shining, reflected by the sunlight, and there was even a hint of sexiness in his eyes, slightly lowered towards the book.
And why were his crossed legs so long? The unrealistically long legs that she had once seen on the internet, where the crossed legs touched the ground, were right in front of her.
After a long while of not being able to take her eyes off Ha Joon, Su Ah began to slowly move towards the front door.
She was curious about the audacious female students’ conversation with Ha Joon.
Just as Su Ah was pricking up her ears and about to put her hand on the door handle,

The door suddenly opened, pushing Su Ah’s body out, and she lost her balance and hit her forehead on the display shelf.
“Ah! Ouch.”
“What? Give me a cigarette.”
The man with a fierce look glanced at Su Ah and nonchalantly named the cigarette.
“5000 won, please.”
As soon as the man left the store after paying, the door opened again.
“Welcome……”
Behind Ha Joon, who had entered the convenience store, dazzling sunlight poured down as if it were a halo.
The moment she opened her narrowed eyes wide and tightened the corners of her eyes, she felt a sharp pain from her forehead where she had bumped earlier.
“Ouch.”
Is it bruised? As she raised her hand to touch the injured area,
Thud. Her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
“Don’t touch it.”
“Excuse me?”
“Don’t touch it because you’re hurt. Where is the first aid kit?”
“The first aid kit? Hhere.”
When Su Ah hurriedly brought out the first aid kit, Ha Joon, who had already come to the counter, started looking for an ointment in the box.
“Just bear with it for a moment.”
His soft voice echoed in her ears, and soon a cold disinfectant swab touched the wound.
“Ouch!”
“Ah! I’m sorry. Does it hurt a lot?”
“No, it’s not that…”

My eyes hurt because of your chest in front of me.
As he offered to treat it, his firm chest filled Su Ah’s vision in the tightly packed space.
Firm chest. Buttons, kisses.
Thoughts flowed like water and, eventually, they flowed into a kiss with him.
Embarrassed, Su Ah bit her lower lip hard.
Ha Joon’s lips hesitated for a moment, then parted.
“I don’t want to apologize.”
“Pardon?”
“I don’t want to apologize for yesterday.”
“…….”
“Apologizing means regret, but I don’t regret it. But if you want an apology……”
[I wish you wouldn’t let go of a good person.]
“You don’t… have to apologize.”
[At least don’t step back when that person takes a step towards you.]
“I was surprised because it was sudden, but I hope you, Ha Joon, don’t regret it.”
Yes. There’s no need to draw a conclusion now. The important thing is not to step back.
“Can I take you home tonight, Su Ah?”
“……Yes. You can.”
Laughter was buried in their mutual conversation.
“Then, I’ll sit over there so as not to bother you.”
As Su Ah nodded, Ha Joon walked to the window and opened his book.
How much time had passed?

Ji Hoon, who had gone out and come back in, quickly came inside when he saw Ha Joon sitting by the window.
“Min Ha Joon!”
“…….”
Oh no. Min Ji Hoon. I thought it was fortunate that he wasn’t here.
Unlike Ji Hoon, who was glad to see him, Ha Joon didn’t look very happy.
“What brings you here? Did you come to see me?”
Ji Hoon sat close to Ha Joon and asked with a bright smile.
Did you come to see me? You came to see Su Ah.
As if it wasn’t even worth answering, Ha Joon put on an indifferent expression and picked up his book again.
“Hey. Even if you came for Su Ah, can’t you at least pretend to be happy to see me? You heartless guy.”
“…….”
“If you keep acting like this, I might just tell Su Ah everything, you know?”
Ha Joon lifted his gaze.
“Just try it.”
“That’s what I’m saying. Be happy to see me too.”
“……Fine. Nice to see you, Min Ji Hoon. Happy now?”
At Ha Joon’s response, Ji Hoon burst into laughter.
“Are you a robot or what? Not a hint of sincerity. That’s why it’s funny.”
Ji Hoon kept laughing, seemingly pleased to have found a weakness in Ha Joon after 20 years.
“Stop laughing, will you?”
Ha Joon gritted his teeth, suppressing his anger with a deep breath.

“Alright. Got it. Got it.”
Ji Hoon barely managed to swallow his laughter.
Just as he was about to avert his fierce gaze from Ji Hoon.
Ha Joon’s eyes lit up as if he had remembered something.
“Let’s go to the office for a moment and talk.”
“The office? Why the office? Is there something we can’t talk about here?”
“I have something to discuss about work.”
“What? Something happened at the company……”
Before Ji Hoon could finish his question, Ha Joon was already up from his seat, heading towards the office.
“Hey. Come with me.”
Ji Hoon immediately followed him.
“What do you want to talk about?”
Ji Hoon, seated on the office sofa, asked.
“Did you receive the update on the marketing contest?”
“Yeah. They said it’s going to be a blind recruitment, right? What about it?”
“The chairman said he’d like you to participate in the judging for this contest.”
“Judging?”
“Yes. It’s been posted in the company announcements, and the submission period will be closed in two weeks. Any longer would just give more opportunities to the executives.”
Ha Joon’s expression turned serious.
Ha Joon knew that ever since Hyun Sung started reducing his office visits and delegated most of the decisionmaking authority to him, the instances of misconduct among the executives had increased.
Why wouldn’t it be? To them, Hyun Sung might have been something else, but Ha Joon was merely a very young and easy target.
“So how am I supposed to participate in the judging?”
“Once the submissions close, we’ll select five teams with the department heads. Then, we’ll select one through an executive vote.”
“So, I just have to go and judge on the day of the executive voting?”
“Yes. I’ll let you know once the date is confirmed.”
“Alright. I understand.”
Along with his response, Ji Hoon looked at Ha Joon with a worried expression.

Although Ha Joon was not incapable of doing his job without confidence, Ji Hoon felt guilty for not being able to help him closely.
He remembered how shocked he was when he received a call from Secretary Park, informing him that Ha Joon had collapsed at the office.
Because Ha Joon didn’t know how to take care of himself, Ji Hoon and Secretary Park had frequently checked on his condition. But now, unable to do so, Ji Hoon was always filled with anxiety.
As a result, Secretary Park always topped the list of Ji Hoon’s most frequent calls.
“Isn’t it about time for Su Ah to finish work?”
Ha Joon asked as he stood up from his seat.
“Yeah. Why? Are you going to take her home?”
“Of course.”
“Oh. Ha Joon has really matured, huh? Even willing to wait to take a girl home.”
“…….”
A slew of unkind words poured out from Ha Joon’s gaze towards Ji Hoon.
“Okay, okay. Stop cursing me with your eyes and go. Just go.”
Ji Hoon flapped his hand in the air at shoulder height.
As Ha Joon left the office to coincide with her end of work, his face slightly crumpled.
“Sis, try this. A friend gave it to me, and it’s really tasty.”
“Wow, it looks delicious.”
Su Ah’s smile was overflowing, directed towards a place where it shouldn’t have been.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
