Lowell had never met Karim before, but she thought she could guess what kind of person he was.

At the mention of Klech, Karim’s brow furrowed. He already knew that Klech had invited Anette to her tea party. He also knew that Klech had long wanted to get even with Anette.

‘It seems she failed, then.’

His daughter was gentle-hearted and kind—there was nothing to be done about that. Just thinking about how Anette had consistently behaved badly toward his daughter made it impossible for Karim to ever like her.

“It’s surprising to meet both father and daughter within a single day—and even more so that neither of you seems particularly fond of me.”

After all, it wasn’t common to encounter someone who, despite using polite speech, clearly showed not the slightest interest or respect toward you.
