Honestly, both in this life and the previous one, there were hardly any people who worried about me.

That’s probably why.

Dependent on the lingering image of my mother who stayed beside me when I was sick, chasing after her shadow.

And why I was moved by a few words of concern from a system window, not even a person.

I was not immune to such things, often craving even the tiniest fragment of affection from actions and words that might have been meaningless to others.

[You, you, you’re going to harm me? No, right? You’re joking, Player? 。° ૮₍°´ᯅ`°₎ა °。]

I sternly asked the system window, which was sobbing miserably.

“You know, right? How many system windows I’ve shattered so far.”

There have been three instances when a system window was shattered.

When I kicked Hezhen after witnessing his misdeeds. When Anselot appeared in front of Hezhen and released the system’s compulsion. And right before Hezhen’s death.

The last two were Anselot’s doing.

But I pretended to be fierce.

As I slightly intimidated it, the system window began to tremble.

Then, I spoke in a comforting voice.

“I don’t want to harm you.”

[……!]

The system window quivered in response.

“But if you try to oppose me, I’ll have no choice but to harm you.”

[Such cruelty……!]

I noticed before, the system window, usually full of emoticons, didn’t use them in serious situations.

It must have been quite shocked and serious.

I didn’t miss this chance and pressed on.

“As you said, I am a bug that has escaped the system. But I need to proceed with the scenario. My goal is to defeat the Light Dragon.”

Technically, destroying the system was the real goal, but I couldn’t reveal that much.
While I was discussing the Light Dragon’s heart, Anselot, and the system with Anselot, I was relieved that the system window didn’t activate. If it had become aware of my purpose, I would have had to eliminate the system window without trying to talk.

[What’s a bug going to do after defeating the Light Dragon?]

“It’s unknown. Maybe completing the scenario could transform me from a bug into a perfect player.”

Though the response was made up on the spot, it seemed plausible enough that the system window flickered briefly.

“It’s your choice what to do.”

[But I, I… Uuuuuh…!]

Poof! Suddenly, the system window disappeared, and a tiny bird emerged, fluttering.

It was a very small bird with soft green feathers and lemon-colored wings.

I looked at it with wide eyes as the bird tweeted sorrowfully.

―You’re so mean!

Eh?

Confused, I looked around, but all I saw was the tiny bird.

“Uh…”

―Don’t talk to me!

Startled, I heard the child’s voice again the moment the bird tweeted mournfully.

It was clear. The bird was speaking.

“Are you…?”

―I don’t know! I don’t know!

Before I could even ask, the baby bird vehemently shook its head while tweeting violently.

‘It’s not the bird speaking, but its chirps are being translated directly into words in my mind.’

The system window had vanished abruptly, and now this tiny bird appeared, seeming to know me and acting offended.

I swallowed nervously and carefully asked.

“Are you the system window?”

―I’m not a system window, I’m a herald! A brave and excellent herald serving the great System!

The baby bird chirped angrily.

‘…Right, it’s the system window.’

I never imagined witnessing such wonders.

“So this is your true form.”

Pfft!

―Hmph!

“You’re really small.”

―That’s because Pia is a temp!

“Pia? Is that your name?”

―I’m not telling you! Why would I teach my name to a bug like you?!!

Despite its anger, the baby bird’s appearance was too cute, making me smile.

“Louibel.”

I extended my palm to the bird, emphasizing my name again.

“My name is Louibel, Pia. You can call me Lulu. Don’t confuse me with other players.”

―Pia’s not stupid enough to mix up names…!

Despite its grumbling, the bird glanced at my palm, then fluttered onto it.

“Have you made your decision?”

―I have no choice! If Player… I mean, if Lulu…

“Lulu.”

―If Lulu isn’t a bug, but a true player, then I have to help you!

The bird finished speaking and cheekily pecked my palm a couple of times.

Tickled by the sensation, I burst into laughter.

―Don’t laugh!!!!

The fluffy bird, now red-faced, let out a ‘piiieeet!’ squeak and pecked my palm a bit harder.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
