As if she had drunk too much yesterday. No memory from last night came to her mind.

“It’s annoying…”

Something important must have happened. But no matter how much she thought, nothing came up.

Lea shook her head and got off the bed. The moment she took a step to change her clothes,

[Dash] Rattle.

A small bottle rolled under the bed.

“What’s this?”

Picking up a bottle the size of her pinky, Lea sighed. A memory suddenly flashed through her mind.

“Right. I was testing on my body, wasn’t I?”

Forgetting such an important fact. Lea found the paper she had placed beside her bed.

“I had a high fever.”

She recalled that her body was hot like fire, but no other symptoms like coughing.

“Good thing I checked beforehand.”

If not, she could only imagine what the Count would have said. Probably accused of being a charlatan.

“But other than suffering from the heat for a day, no other symptoms seem to appear.”

It was fairly successful, given that the addiction to Poralium had disappeared after suffering the high fever.

“But losing memory is a bit fatal.”

It would be problematic if the Count lost his memory after taking the medicine.

Was it shortterm memory loss or longterm? She began to recall last night’s memories.

“Right. I took the medicine and kept a record. Then I went to sleep, and uhm.”

Pieces of fragmented memories flashed through her mind. Lea falling off the bed with a high fever and the bedroom door opening.

‘Wait a minute.’

“Who came in?”

She couldn’t remember who came in. Nothing at all.

“What?”

Her mind went blank for a moment. As if someone cut out that scene with scissors, her mind was completely empty.

“Who the hell came in?”

‘Was it another maid from a different room?’

There was no one who would come into her room, so Lea tilted her head.

(This is a time separator.)

[Dash] Knock knock.

Lea visited the Count’s bedroom to make a courtesy call and to report on the progress of the new medicine.

“Count, it’s Lea.”
It was strange. Normally, when you knocked on the door, you’d hear something fall on the floor as always.

Inside the room, there was an oddly complete lack of response.

‘Why is there no reaction?’

Lea, eager to report on the medication’s progress, cautiously opened the door.

“Excuse me……”

Hesitant in case he was sleeping, the moment she opened the bedroom door,

“Ah!”

The man, whom she had assumed would be in bed, was standing right in front of the door, looking down at Lea.

‘No. Shouldn’t this man make some noise if he’s standing by the door?’

She almost dropped the cup of tea she was holding.

“What on earth, why are you standing there……”

But upon seeing Count Heidern’s face, Lea was at a loss for words.

‘What is that look?’

It was an expression she’d never seen from the Count before. As if he had been waiting like a loyal dog, an expression that suggested he’d been waiting for her.

A strange discomfort raised the hairs on Lea’s skin.

Moreover,

“Arrived?”

“Ah, yes.”

‘Arrived?’

The Count greeted her with an uncharacteristically soft voice.

Could it be an illusion that he was treating her more cordially than usual? Her eyes narrowed at his different behavior.

‘Something is strange……’

Certainly, it was odd.

His face was oddly flushed, not to mention he was unnecessarily clearing his throat. He couldn’t even maintain eye contact.

After closely observing him for a while, Lea’s eyes sparkled as if she found the answer.

‘He caught a cold?’

His pride obviously wouldn’t let him admit he was unwell and had been waiting for her.

‘Anyway, this will require extra care.’

Pretending to know nothing, Lea asked the Count,

“Count, do you feel unwell?”

To Lea’s question, Count Heidern, who had been staring at the doorknob, turned his head.

“……Not at all. What about you?”

“Me?”

Why is he suddenly concerned about me?

“I’m perfectly fine.”

“……Is that so? You seemed to have had quite a fever yesterday.”

‘Fever?’

Confused, Lea pondered what he meant.

Recalling that she had felt a strong fever due to the medication’s side effects, she realized that the Count knew.

“How did you know I had a high fever?”

Lea asked with a surprised face.

“Well……”

The Count hesitated and seemed to freeze as if he realized something. His face hardened.

“……You don’t remember what happened last night?”

“Last night?”

What happened last night?

She tried to remember but could only recall taking the medication and falling asleep.

There was no way anything happened.

Only after observing Lea’s puzzled face did the Count realize she had no memory of it.

“Ha!”

Seemingly stunned by Lea’s reaction, Count Heidern ran his fingers through his hair.

Is he angry about something?

His face was colder than usual. The Count pulled Lea further into the room and slammed the door shut.

“What’s the matter? Why are you so angry……”

“Angry? Do I look angry to you?”

The Count answered, sarcastically amused. Then, he moved closer to Lea.

‘What? What’s going on……!’

Unknowingly, Lea took a step back. Until she could retreat no more, her back pressed against the wall.

His glaring red eyes sparkled even in the dim bedroom.

Two arms extended from Count Heidern, trapping Lea against the wall. She swallowed hard, paralyzed by his gaze.

“You said you don’t remember what happened yesterday?”

The Count, now close enough to touch, tilted his head toward Lea.

“If you don’t remember, I can make it memorable for you.”

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife

I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro

When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.

After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.

Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.

Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.

At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.

Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.

The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.

He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.

[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]
