The man with deep blue hair was familiar.

Since she had come across him several times at the mansion, she knew he was a servant here.

“Yes. But why are you here…”

When Lea scanned the man with a wary gaze, he gave a shy smile. Then he dragged his limping left leg and approached Lea’s desk.

“I’m introducing myself for the first time. I’m James, the one managing the garden. I slipped on a ladder while trimming the tree earlier today.”

Lea lowered her gaze to the man’s left leg. The fact that he was wincing every time he moved suggested that the pain was more serious than she thought.

“I was okay earlier in the day, but now that I’m trying to sleep, my leg hurts so much. I hope I’m not intruding at this late hour…”

“No, not at all. I was just working… come this way. I’ll have a look.”

At first, Lea thought she was only in charge of treating the count.

But when sick patients started visiting the clinic, she realized that treating the servants was also her responsibility.

Lea examined the condition of the man’s leg, which he had revealed by lifting his pant leg.

Seeing his swollen ankle, she placed her hand on his injury to stimulate it, causing James to wince.

“Does it hurt?”

“Yes. It hurts every time it’s touched or moved.”

Lea nodded, as if she had anticipated this.

“It’s a sprain. It seems like you twisted it when you fell. It’s not serious, but if the swelling continues, come back.”

“Ah…”

“You should rest and frequently soak your foot in cold water. Cold compresses are good for swelling.”

Rest was the best treatment for a sprained ankle. James watched Lea as she continued with her clear prescriptions.

He had heard rumors that the newly arrived pharmacist was so obsessed with money that she was only focused on selling nutritional supplements. So, he had hesitated to visit the pharmacy because he doubted her qualifications as a healthcare professional.

Having actually received treatment, James revised his opinion of Lea. She was quite a capable pharmacist.

After finishing the ankle treatment, Lea stood up, having been bent over.

“Here’s your medicine. Don’t overexert yourself for a while. If the pain gets severe, I’ll prescribe more medication.”

“Thank you.”

After repeatedly thanking Lea, James left the room. As soon as the door closed, Lea, who had been tapping her palm, muttered.

“Shall we get started again?”

Having forgotten because of the consultation, she came to her senses when she smelled the corn starch that tickled her nose.

‘I need to focus and finish this quickly.’

She had not even finished half of the reservation list. Turning her head, she saw the black night sky spread out beyond the window.

‘I need to finish up here and get back.’

Lea sighed as if there was no other choice, and was about to start her postponed work.

[Dash] Sliding sound.

She heard someone coming in again.

“James, did you forget something?”

Lea asked cheerfully, her head bowed, thinking of concentrating on her work again. But James didn’t answer at all.
Nothing but the sound of trudging footsteps approaching her desk could be heard. Lea slowly lifted her head.

“Tell me, and I’ll find it for… Huh?”

Lea, who had been facing forward, halted. She had assumed it would be James.

The man in front of her was not James. He asked Lea in a cool voice.

“Who is James?”

“Count?”

Lea’s gaze at the count was filled with bewilderment.

“I asked who James is.”

The count’s gaze grew harsh as he asked again who James was. His fiery red eyes shimmered in the candlelight.

‘Why is he acting like this?’

It was all Greek to her. Moreover, why did the count seem angry?

“He’s a gardener, James is a gardener.”

“A gardener…”

He quietly repeated James’s name as if trying to remember that fact.

“But how did you get here?”

“Why? Am I not supposed to be here?”

He tilted his head, as if asking if there was a problem.

“That’s not it, but…”

It was the first time the count had personally visited the pharmacy. And at such a late hour.

Lea’s mind raced, trying to figure out why the count had come to the pharmacy.

However, it seemed that he didn’t care what Lea was thinking, looking around nonchalantly.

“What were you doing here at this hour? You should have been at the annex today.”

“…The annex?”

Lea, who had been muttering his words, clapped her hands as if she had realized something important.

‘Ah, right!’

Today was the day she was to study the antidote with the count at the annex. But she had completely forgotten about it while making the nutritional supplement.

Lea sighed in selfpity.

‘So that’s why he came all the way here.’

It was clear that he had probably come here after waiting at the annex. She felt she finally understood why the count was angry.

Thinking about the count who must have been waiting for her at the annex, Lea hurriedly gathered her things, filled with regret.

“I’m sorry! I completely forgot. Let’s go now! It’s not too late, we still have an hour or so for research…”

Just when Lea, who had finished preparing, was hurrying out of the pharmacy.

[Dash] Thud.

The halfopen door suddenly closed again. By the count’s hand. Lea tilted her head, puzzled by the man’s sudden action.

“Count?”

“I was curious.”

“…About what?”

She started to feel a sense of unease at the sight of the man, who seemed to be exuding an unusual aura.

“What you’ve been doing in this room.”

“…”

“Why don’t you show me what you did with James?”

It was thought that only the most powerful and talented noble lady in Feng Ling City would be worthy of such a brilliant young man. Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?

Short scene 1:

Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.

Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?

Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?

Short scene 2:

Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”

Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.

Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”

Wei Jing Mo: “…”
