However, the Count didn’t say anything. He was just gazing at Lea.

Feeling the strange atmosphere, Lea gave an awkward smile to the Count.

“I talked too much, didn’t I? Let’s start the examination. Then, I’ll unbutton your shirt for a moment…..”

Lea, getting close, slid her hand inside his dress shirt. Her hand, sliding past the opening of his shirt, grazed the Count’s skin.

Just conducting an examination, but why was her heart pounding so much?

Unwittingly, Lea swallowed a dry gulp. Then slowly, as her fingertips delved deeper inside his shirt,

[Dash] Thud!

The Count, grabbing Lea’s wrist, muttered.

“You, you’re having a fever.”

“Huh? I didn’t think I had a fever…..”

Lea, seeming bewildered, put both hands on her cheeks. The Count, who had been watching her intently, responded.

“Ha, enough.”

As if annoyed, the Count pushed away Lea’s hand.

“But I didn’t even properly start…..”

“This is enough.”

What’s enough? The proper examination hadn’t even begun.

Since she first met the Count and examined him, aside from the interview, there had been no proper examination.

Lea forcibly held back the words that were ready to burst out of her throat.

“I know my condition well. You just focus on making the antidote. I’ll let you know if there’s any progress in the side effects.”

“But I need to know the Count’s exact condition to…..!”

Even if the Count had a knack for medicine, he couldn’t be more accurate than a pharmacist like her.

Lea, frustrated, found it hard to understand the Count’s point of view.

Why was the Count so stubborn?

At Lea’s stubborn gaze, the Count straightened up in his chair.

“More importantly.”

He reached out and tugged at the stethoscope around Lea’s neck.

“You don’t seem to be in a condition to treat me right now. Quack.”

His low voice wrapped around her ear from close range. It was so close, as if it could touch her any moment.
Looking at the Duke who had come close, Lea’s heart began to throb heavily.

‘What nonsense.’

Lea blinked her eyes, not understanding what the Duke was talking about.

“If the apothecary can’t even examine his own body, who is he to diagnose others?”

The Duke smirked, looking down at Lea, who was sitting on him. He then lifted a finger and lightly pushed her forehead.

[DASH] Thump.

Despite the Duke’s light flick, Lea was pushed back weakly. Just as she was touching her forehead where the Duke’s fingers had been.

Akia went over to a rack filled with herbs and brought out a few. He then pointed to a table with the herbs on it.

“Stop fooling around. Come here and mix the herbs as I tell you to.”

“Herbs……?”

Lea looked over the herbs that the Duke had just taken out. They seemed to be strange ingredients for making the Duke’s remedy.

‘Why is he telling me to mix these?’

She began to closely examine the herbs.

Pantin, Brus, Dern.

None of these were herbs that could make a detoxifying potion for the Duke.

Rather, they seemed like ingredients to make a cold medicine…..

‘No way.’

Lea looked at the Duke with a different gaze. Then he cocked his head.

“What are you doing? Why aren’t you making it?”

“Ah, yes.”

‘Ay, it’s not possible.’

There was no way he had prepared these herbs for me.

Considering how frail the Duke usually was, I thought he was asking me to make his own nutrient supplements.

The mixture of these herbs could help to cure a cold, but it also had the effect of boosting energy.

Thinking this, Lea quickly began to make the medicine.

“Cough, cough.”

Every time she coughed, the Duke’s glaring eyes were fierce. She thought she wouldn’t visit the cottage until she got over her cold.

Lea transferred the finished medicine into a small bottle. She then held it out to the Duke sitting down.

“Here it is. But you must be taking these often. Even though they are good for energy replenishment, it’s best not to take too much…”

“Drink it.”

The Duke, who had been staring intently at the bottle Lea offered, lifted his chin.

“What?”

“If I catch a cold from you, it would be troublesome. Drink it, quickly.”

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)

A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage

Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.

In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.

As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.

Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.

She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.

“Brother, come home with me.”
