Before the clergy entered, the attendants first entered the bedroom.

The attendants quickly lowered all the black seethrough curtains tied to the bed posts.

Only then did I realize that Emperor Rinel’s words about not worrying and ending it with a simple act were executable.

As soon as the Emperor and I sat side by side on the bed, the attendants left the bedroom, and the clergy silently entered like ghosts.

The figures of the clergy visible through the black seethrough curtains seemed devout.

Each of them held a Bible in their hands.

I wanted to ask why they brought Bibles on the first night of the royal couple.

The clergy took their places around the bed, far from the bed, and began to recite the prayers before the main ceremony.

Emperor Rinel gently pushed my arm.

As I was idly looking at the silhouettes of the clergy beyond the seethrough curtain, he whispered softly in my ear when I looked at him.

“As you can see, the clergy only see our figures. They don’t see anything in detail. They will leave the bedroom while reciting the song of blessings, so just bear with it a little.”

“Pardon? So, you mean…”

The clergy are not directly observing the first night?

“You should know you’re lucky.”

“Me?”

Am I lucky? I opened my eyes wide and asked back at his incomprehensible words.

He nodded his head.

“The first night of the former emperors, the clergy entered the bedroom and directly observed, but now it’s changed.”

Really?

“…When did it start?”

“Since my time.”

He said he got rid of the tradition that was already in place.

“But I compromised and came to an agreement.”

The agreement was this.

The clergy come into the bedroom before the first night and pray, and when the royal couple shares a kiss, they go out and wait. When the first night is over, they enter the bedroom again and finish their role by singing the song of blessings.

“Why that face? Should I have changed it from my next generation?”

“No, no. You did a great job, Your Majesty.”

If you were going to tell me that from the beginning…

I was really nervous!

“But we have to deceive the eyes of the clergy a little.”

“How? What should I do?”

Just say it.

I am deceiving you, the Emperor, so the clergy are nothing.

“Looking at you talking so actively, I guess acting won’t be a problem. It’s about the kiss…”

Kiss?

“I will pretend to move, and the Empress should cooperate a bit.”

“What kind of cooperation…?”

“Just stay still, Empress. That’s all.”

In other words, the kiss is a signal for the first night.

But it was really fortunate that the tradition changed and the clergy stepped back from there.

It was a situation where I had to match not only my hands and feet for acting, but also my lips.

“Really… I just have to stay still?”

“Why, do you want to lead? Then do so.”

“No, Your Majesty, I will follow your command!”

I whispered quickly.

“Good.”

Emperor Rinel let out a long sigh.

Now that I see, he seemed nervous too.

“Although other things don’t have to show to the clergy, the kiss, there’s no choice.”

His voice asking me for understanding sounded somewhat sad.

To this pitiful Emperor, a bit of sweetness.

What a crime I am committing.

But my heart, forgetting my situation, thumped heavily as soon as it saw Emperor Rinel’s lips.

Anyway, I have to hold on until Princess Resilia arrives at the Raphion Palace.

It won’t be easy, but my survival game has already started.

I must not be caught.

Not for Princess Resilia, not for Prince Tessler, but for me alone.

She obtained a magic potion to erase her burn scar and live as her complete self.

“The ceremony begins.”

The Emperor Rinel’s voice towards the priests was as dry as if he was attending a tedious meeting.

With the Emperor’s words, the priests stopped their prayers and began to mutter something new.

Words like inexplicable spells flowed from the priests’ mouths, following a mystical rhythm.

Was this some kind of background music before the night ceremony?

Though not heard clearly, the voices fluctuated, intermittently searching for ‘god’.

It seemed like she might be able to join in a bit later.

She had no idea what to do, everything was dark before her eyes.

Well, Emperor Rinel, who seems experienced, would probably lead the way, right?

Listening to the priests’ songs continuously, she felt slightly mesmerized.

Emperor Rinel glanced at her and whispered quietly.

“Reacting to the priests’ spell?”

What the heck. Is there some divine power making her feel weird due to the spell the priests are chanting?

Thinking about it, even without their lips touching yet, her body was already tingling.

Unfortunately, a fever was rising within her body.

Since she was seven, when she got a burn scar on her face, this reaction would occur several times a month.

This fever was a symptom only she could feel.

No one could know that her body was hot, even if they looked at her or touched her skin directly.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
