After the state wedding, the Emperor headed to the Empress’s chamber as night fell.

Since the Empress’s bath had not yet ended, he could not enter the bedroom immediately and had to wait briefly in another room.

“I thought I recognized her from somewhere…”

When Rinel first saw Zelda at the grand wedding hall, her face had startled him.

She was the very woman who had argued with him the previous night at the “Dangdanghan” clinic.

He hadn’t been able to see her face clearly because she had immediately put on a veiled hat upon leaving the examination room, but he remembered perfectly those luminous pink eyes.

In fact, the moment he saw those pink eyes at the clinic the previous night, he had unconsciously provoked her, recalling the girl from ten years ago at the Shattonil Royal Court—who had made the Crown Prince wait three hours before never showing up.

And now she was to become the Empress.

It was so absurd he couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly.

“You seemed constantly displeased before the state wedding, but now that you’re married, you’re clearly in better spirits?”

Raphael assessed Rinel’s bitter chuckle.

“Do you think I’m laughing because I’m happy?”

“Of course not? What reason would you have to be unhappy?”

“Raphael, that woman.”
