He fiddled near my knees before laying me back on the bed.

He replied shyly with a troubled expression.

“Your Majesty…….”

“It’s just the motions, so don’t make such an annoyed face. What’s the request?”

As his face drew closer and I shot him a slight glare, he spoke in a sulky tone.

That look made me laugh, but I steadied myself and lowered my voice.

“Are you going to talk in this position?”

“Shall we sit up and talk again?”

He rose and, quite naturally, lifted my body onto his lap.

“……What are you doing?”

“When talking, you have to look in the eyes. Come on, tell me now.”

Sitting on his lap, the topic I had to bring up was one that would upset him, so the words didn’t come easily.
