Do Jun answered briefly.
The doctor had President Park move his hands and feet and left a meticulous record.
Then President Park unexpectedly started to brag.
“Our daughterinlaw is going to give us a grandchild soon, huhu!”
“Oh my, really?”
Surprised Hae Joo grabbed Do Jun’s arm.
However, he was indifferent.
“If a child is born from such a good couple, they will surely be beautiful, right?”
“Huhu, our daughterinlaw is so patient.”
Just as this happened, the door was open.
The people who had gathered to watch stirred at President Park’s words.
The doctor left and Hae Joo asked Do Jun critically.
“How can you stand by if people believe I’m pregnant?”
“We can clarify if a rumor starts.”
“Don’t speak lightly.”
“People think we’ve lived as a couple for three years. Isn’t it strange that we don’t have a child yet?”
“But what if rumors are rampant and I’m not really pregnant?”
Hae Joo was anxious, fearing being entangled with Do Jun, hard to handle a divorce after a year.
She had never thought about a relationship until now.

To Hae Joo, success as an actress was more important than love or marriage.
“I’ll say it again, I don’t intend to pretend to be a couple.”
“Do Jun sir.”
“The year I promised with you is a real couple.”
At sunset, the two of them left the nursing home.
Thanks to the awkward talk about pregnancy, a chill ran through the car.
“I have a place to go, so go home first.”
“Where are you going?”
“Company.”
Do Jun’s car, which had dropped Hae Joo off, quickly moved away.
The one left alone went home.
On the other hand, Do Jun stopped his car for a moment before entering the road.
He pulled out his cell phone and made a call somewhere. The other party picked up the phone before long.
Yes, President Park.
“Let’s have lunch together tomorrow.”
I do have a prior engagement tomorrow, would you like to join as well?
“Who’s gathering?”
The person who answered the phone gave detailed information about the people they planned to see.
Do Jun nodded at the expected answer.
“Good. It’s also good to expand the network at this opportunity.”
Then I’ll contact you through Director Song tomorrow.
After the call ended, Do Jun arrived at the company.

The place he brought his alwayspacked sports bag to was the gym set up in the company. There were some employees who came to exercise even though it was the weekend.
Having changed into workout clothes, he decided to shake off the desire that had been tormenting him all day.
“Smoking is not the problem.”
At first, he thought it was hard because of nicotine addiction, but it wasn’t.
The problem was his desire for Hae Joo, which had been piqued under the guise of script practice.
His muscular body was receiving punishment innocently.
If he wanted to keep Hae Joo by his side, he had to control his overflowing energy first and he ran and ran.
Hae Joo, who had dinner, closed the script she was looking at.
It wasn’t easy to get President Park’s talk about grandchildren out of her mind.
“What if this also becomes a rumor. The agency will have something to say.”
Just when she was most upset, the phone bell rang. Jin Han’s name popped up on the screen.
“Director!”
Hae Joo, can you talk?
“Sure. Please speak.”
Hae Joo’s heart was uneasy.

She inwardly fretted, wondering what he had heard and called.
Director Kwak might also come for lunch tomorrow.
“That’s good.”
He seems to bring a guest, should we just go with you and me on our side?
“Right.”
After the guests leave, let’s have a cup of tea in a quiet place.
“Do you have something to talk about?”
Do we have to have something to say to meet? See you tomorrow.
After the call, Hae Joo laid down early, lost in thought.
When she was deep in her thoughts, a text notification appeared.
Hello. I am Choi In Ho from Real Fact. I wanted to formally request an interview, so I am contacting you.
Choi In Ho was a reporter infamous in the entertainment department.
After being refused an interview with Hae Joo by the agency, he sent a message directly.
Ignoring the message, she even blocked his number.
“How rude.”
The marriage with Do Jun was like a time bomb in Hae Joo’s hand. As there had never been a deep romance with him to begin with, she had to bear the discomfort in her heart.
Maybe it was because she was anxious, but she couldn’t sleep and headed to the bathroom. She filled the round bathtub with water and dissolved the bath product she had brought.

The sweet scent filled the bathroom.
Opening the bathroom window a bit, she undressed and pushed her clothes away with her toe.
“It’s warm.”
She pushed aside the thick bubbles and sat down. The water, lukewarm from the early summer, was moderately cool and at times warm.
“Good.”
The bathtub was spacious enough for two people to comfortably fit in.
But it looked like Do Jun hardly used it as everything looked new.
Gradually, fatigue crept in.
Just as she was about to doze off, she heard someone stepping on the stairs outside.
“Do Jun?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
