Early morning. The alarm, now quite familiar to her ears, rang out.

As soon as the melody began, Song Yeon’s eyes shot open, and without a moment’s hesitation or dawdling, she quickly sat up. Still half-asleep, Yang Hoon opened his mouth in a groggy voice.

“Let’s sleep a little longer. Song Yeon-ah, just a bit more…”

“No way. If we’re any later, it’ll be packed. You keep sleeping. I’ll be back soon.”

It was five in the morning.

Having barely fallen asleep past two the previous night, Song Yeon sprang up with full energy after less than three hours of sleep. Yang Hoon struggled painfully to open his eyes, which simply refused to cooperate.

After blinking several times against the sharp light piercing his pupils, he turned over to face the other side. Hearing the sound of her slippers fading away, he slowly and wearily sat up a moment later.

“Ugh, how can she seriously have zero tolerance for morning sleep? Absolutely none at all.”

Song Yeon, who couldn’t go even a single day without exercising—otherwise she’d feel as though thorns were sprouting all over her body—was a true fitness fanatic.

Rain or snow, she never missed her morning workout. Yang Hoon, who had started exercising alongside her, lately felt as though he was barely clinging to life.

He’d begun tagging along without much thought, believing her claim that morning exercise made one feel light and refreshed, energizing you for the whole day—but what on earth had he gotten himself into?

“Ugh, my shoulders… Ugh, my back…”

The more he kept up with these morning workouts, the more drained he felt.

“Since you’re up anyway, why’d you get out of bed?”

Song Yeon, now changed into her workout clothes, looked at Yang Hoon as he stepped out of the bedroom and widened her eyes in surprise. Yang Hoon weakly waved his hand, clearly lacking the energy to speak.
