“The drink you wanted to have with me yesterday, Managing Director. Let’s have it today.”

Tae Beom stopped abruptly as he closed the office door.

For a moment, his gaze lingered on the closed door as if looking at Hye Won outside, then tilted his head slightly.

So she wanted to drink today the drink they couldn’t finish yesterday.

At first glance, it sounded like a date request—but Tae Beom knew well that it absolutely wasn’t.

He’d spent the entire day pretending to be busy, going to such lengths just to avoid Hye Won. He’d dodged her so diligently because meeting her clearly wouldn’t lead to anything good.

Yet she was rushing to leave work, looking remarkably calm and composed, as if saying, “I’ve been waiting for you all day.”

“Ah… maybe I should’ve just said I was busy… told her we’d drink another time.”

Regret struck him belatedly, and Tae Beom pressed his fingers firmly against his temples.

This was probably her final offer—the last supper she intended to share with him.

After work, since their purpose was clearly drinking, they found a suitable bar.

The two of them, having deliberately gone somewhere relatively far from the office, sat facing each other across a small table.

He ordered whiskey—the drink he usually enjoyed—and she chose wine, lower in alcohol content.

Hye Won took a long sip. Though the sommelier had explained it was a premium Chilean wine, produced only about 3,000 bottles a year, this was hardly the moment to focus on such details.

She had to drink quickly and get drunk fast. There were far too many things she couldn’t say while sober—she needed the courage that only alcohol could give.
