“Eun Seol-ah, you must wake up.”

At the low voice calling her name, Eun Seol opened her eyes.

It seemed she had unknowingly fallen asleep inside the palanquin heading toward Woon Yeon Palace.

Barely opening her eyes and looking ahead, she found Woon sitting right before her, knees drawn up, filling her entire field of vision.

Woon gently stroked her cheek with unhurried fingers.

“We’ve arrived. If you’re tired, shall I carry you inside?”

“I’m probably much heavier than I used to be—won’t that be a problem?”

“Have you already forgotten? Just a few days ago, I carried the Queen Consort…”

“Oh, no—I’m not tired at all. Gyeom Yi must be waiting for us. Let’s go.”

Eun Seol leaned her upper body backward and waved her hands dismissively.

A few days earlier, while waiting for Woon at a garden pavilion, Eun Seol had unintentionally fallen asleep.

Though partly due to being exhausted from Woon keeping her up all night, her sleepiness had increased lately—she dozed off almost every time she sat down.

That day too, Woon had carried her all the way back to the Queen’s residence while she remained asleep.

Upon waking, she’d been so embarrassed she couldn’t leave her room for quite some time.

When she later scolded him for carrying her instead of waking her, his reply left her speechless:
