With Jane herself standing right there, the others kept chattering away. Though embarrassed and uncomfortable, Jane could only offer an awkward smile.

“I’d like to hear more about Marquess Hastings.”

Little looked at Jane with sorrowful eyes. He didn’t know much, but Jane seemed to carry some unspoken burden.
