After Reporter Oh left, Yeoreum blankly stared up at the ceiling lined with checkered tiles.

Despite the ER being somewhat noisy, her body felt languidly melted. After blinking a few times, sleep quickly washed over her. Having barely slept for several days, she drifted off almost instantly.

It felt as if the bed was jostling along, and she thought she glimpsed Manager Hong’s face. Half-dreaming, she opened her eyes to find herself not in the ER but in a hospital room.

‘Why am I here?’

Right before her eyes, Manager Hong and Taeseok were arguing.

“You crazy bastard. Do you even know where you are, barging in here alone like that? SNS is blowing up right now.”

“But Yeoreum had an accident! How could I possibly sit around and wait?”

“What do you care? Are you even her boyfriend? What exactly are you trying to do?”

Yeoreum, half-awake, closed her eyes again and thought, ‘Are they talking about me?’

Although the medicine she’d just taken contained a small dose of sedative, it wasn’t strong enough to make her this overwhelmingly sleepy. Rather, the exhaustion she’d accumulated over time weighed down her mind, pulling her back into slumber.

Manager Hong had swiftly located Taeseok after he charged into the ER, locked him in the car, and admitted Yeoreum to the VIP ward—primarily to isolate Taeseok, not her.
