“Stop it. I’ve already told you it’s not like that.”

Ji Hyeonjeong irritably stuffed a piece of pork cutlet into her mouth. The sauce here was always too sweet—not pleasantly sweet, but unnaturally cloying, as if forced sweetness had been jammed in. Just like their current relationship, really.

Then again, what could you expect from a 9,000-won pork cutlet?

“Oh my. Listen to that loud voice. Are you going to start yelling now?”

Shin Mincheol responded nonchalantly as he sliced his cutlet. Someone might call it cheap-tasting, someone else might say it resembled junk food—but to him, it was the comforting flavor of fond memories.

Muttering something about how she never let him finish speaking, he laughed it off half-jokingly and went back to eating his cutlet. That evasive attitude bothered her even more. Unable to ask him directly what exactly he knew or how much he knew, she felt even more frustrated.

“Anyway, Ji Hyeonjeong. Better stockpile while you can. Have you seen how well our Ji Hyeok’s doing lately? He’s grinding his teeth, saying he’ll surpass Seo Taeseok. That cheeky guy. From Cheon Ji Hyeok’s looks to his personality and drive—there’s not a single flaw. Taeseok should start feeling nervous.”

It was infuriating.

Of course, Cheon Ji Hyeok’s name had been buzzing around recently, but he absolutely wasn’t doing well enough to rival Seo Taeseok.
