“No, once is enough. The script has already been released.”

Yeoreum countered calmly, suppressing her irritation.

She wanted to yell out louder. If it weren’t for the assistant director passing by, if it weren’t for the sound director carrying audio equipment, if this weren’t a shooting set.

How long does he intend to torment me?

The days I haven’t been to his house, how peaceful my heart was. Would he even imagine that?

The unknowable glances, the sometimes lingering stares, the touch of his hand while making coffee – she knew all of that was just an unbearable pain.

Taeseok slightly tilted his head, showing his discomfort.

“I told you to go home.”

It was as if he hadn’t heard Yeoreum’s counter-argument, remaining stubborn.

“I don’t want to.”

“We need to revise the script.”

His tone was strangely gentle, which made her even more uneasy. Yeoreum stubbornly shook her head.

“Writer Choi Yeoreum. For the emotions to be fully conveyed, this part of the flashback needs to appear twice.”

“We agreed on it together. Why are you doing this now?”

“A script can always change depending on the situation on set. Being stubborn won’t help.”

Yeoreum bit her lower lip, which drew a long look from Taeseok.

“Let’s try to revise it as soon as possible since we’re shooting here tomorrow.”

“I don’t want to. I said no.”

Yeoreum stepped back, looking stubbornly at Taeseok. His gaze turned colder.

“No.”

“Yes. I don’t want to. I think the script is good enough as it is.”

“Why do you always dislike everything? What do you find so disagreeable?”

“…”

“Do you dislike everything I ask for? Or just me?”

“Would you prefer that? You dislike me anyway.”

Taeseok clenched his fists.

The sunset had deepened, casting a strange darkness between them.

It wasn’t pitch black, but a kind of twilight, losing light, somewhere in between. Taeseok thought this air was much like them both, uncomfortably skimming the surface.

The crimson sky gradually darkened, losing its light. It was an unremarkable moment.

“Rewrite it.”

So, he ended up saying something even more unremarkable.

“Smile at me as much as you did for Cheon Ji-hyeok before you go.”

Then, he threw the script in front of Yeoreum.

The script traced an arc through the air, landing at Yeoreum’s feet. The story she had cherished for three years now lay crumpled and insignificant, covered in dirt and leaves.

Yeoreum gazed down at her feet.

Tears blurred her vision, making the leaves and script hazy. As she slowly bent to pick up the script, a tear dropped.

“How dare a rookie writer talk back like that.”

Taeseok slowly stood up from his chair, scanning the surroundings of the shooting set. Staff members who had been watching nearby were startled and ran to the director.

“Go home. Wait there.”

He added one more sentence.

“You must do as I say.”

The murmurs spread rapidly.

There was a bit of trouble on the shooting set. A standoff had started between the lead actor and the rookie writer. Taeseok had demanded a script revision, and the writer had refused.

Opinions varied: some said, “What’s the big deal about a script that you have to be so stubborn?” and others argued, “The script is the writer’s domain, and the actor should respect that.”

All the staff could do was gather in small groups and gossip during their break, debating who was right or wrong and how they spent their time off.

“In the end, it will go Taeseok’s way.”
Everyone nodded in agreement with someone’s comment. Yes, it didn’t matter who was at fault. This was the entertainment industry, driven by popularity, and Seo Taeseok was a top-tier actor.

“The writer sure has guts.”

To them, these were just minor incidents.

“It’ll get resolved eventually. Unless they plan to scrap the drama.”

In the midst of this chaos, Director Lee called Taeseok aside.

Taeseok came with a half-apologetic, half-despondent expression that Director Lee couldn’t understand. The director began to speak in a soothing tone.

“Actor Seo. I know that as a newcomer, Writer Yeoreum might not meet your expectations, but she’s working hard…”

“I apologize.”

Taeseok interrupted with a formal apology. This left Director Lee at a loss for words.

“I’ve caused trouble on the set. I apologize.”

“Uh, well, yes.”

After a cough, Director Lee continued.

“You don’t like Writer Choi’s script?”

“No, I actually like it. Writer Choi.”

His overly polite demeanor made it almost comical to probe further.

In fact, throwing scripts around was not uncommon on film sets. Although it would be best to avoid conflicts, the situation on set didn’t always go as the director planned.

“Since both of you are responsible for Seo Taeseok’s script, please resolve this amicably and avoid further incidents.”

“Yes.”

“Such matters can leak to the outside quickly, and we don’t want bad rumors spreading before the drama airs.”

“I understand. I’m sorry.”

Yeoreum was alone in the spacious house.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
