Tae-seok looked at his wristwatch. It was past 2 o’clock.

“I didn’t eat. Let’s have lunch.”

Suddenly, he got up and went to the kitchen. Yeoreum had no chance to protest. He started preparing something with clattering sounds.

The aromatic smell of creamy sauce and the sound of boiling pasta stimulated her senses. Yeoreum, who hadn’t even had breakfast, suddenly felt hungry.

“Come and sit here.”

A rich and creamy pasta was placed in front of Yeoreum.

He was good at cooking. Moreover, cream pasta was Yeoreum’s favorite among Tae-seok’s dishes. It probably wasn’t intentional, but several related memories popped into her mind.

However, Yeoreum didn’t show much reaction and quietly ate her meal. Soon, the bottom of her plate was visible. Her lie about having eaten lunch was easily exposed.

Embarrassed, Yeoreum picked up her plate and said,

“I’ll do the dishes.”

Tae-seok, brewing strong coffee, quietly observed her as she cleaned up in the kitchen.

She used to be such a cute eater.

He found her eating manner so appealing that he fell for her. She ate everything without fuss.

When her cheeks flushed red as peaches while laughing, Tae-seok felt like the world sometimes stopped. But now, Choi Yeoreum was lifeless. Her cheeks were hollow and thin, and she didn’t even smile.

He felt a pang of pity, which was why he fed her lunch.

‘Pity her, huh. That kid.’

She wore gloves and washed the dishes diligently. She always missed one or two items, a bad habit that forced her to wash them again later.

Today was no exception; a plate remained on the table. Tae-seok contemplated telling her but decided against it, wanting to see her back a little longer.

Yeoreum turned around, noticed the plate, and sighed ‘Ah’ before soaping it up again. That careless girl. She never changes her habits over time.

Tae-seok suddenly came to his senses.

‘What am I doing right now?’

It was a very strange and irritating day. He introspected.

‘What do you want, Seo Tae-seok?’

When he first heard about Choi Yeoreum’s return, he was so angry he couldn’t see straight. But anyhow, he was much calmer now than back then.
After finishing the dishes, Yeoreum walked to the coffee machine with light steps.

She focused stubbornly on the coffee dispenser, not once looking back, although it seemed like she might. Tae-seok felt an urge to turn her around and meet her eyes.

‘At this point, I should admit it.’

Can’t everyone be understood in life?

Tae-seok’s thoughts grew more generous. Or rather, it wasn’t like Yeoreum cheated on him, right? She just took some money. A bit aggressively, perhaps. Well, it wasn’t that much money anyway.

Life brings all sorts of experiences. Sometimes, you have to bury the past and start anew.

I want to start again.

Here stands the biggest fool in the world. Tae-seok couldn’t help but let out a bitter laugh.

This time, maybe Choi Yeoreum will demand 500 million won. Yet, he thought he’d be willing to give it to her. Was his brain malfunctioning?

No, it wasn’t just about wanting to give; he wished she’d ask him directly, not Ji-hyeon Jeong. He wanted to tell her to take the money and not run away, to stay by his side.

The thought that money could solve everything seemed too easy, making him want to smash his own brain.

“Damn it.”

He was flabbergasted.

Yeoreum, holding her coffee, looked at him, not understanding why.

The next morning, a luxury foreign car parked in front of Yeoreum’s house. It was Ji-hyuk. Yeoreum had finally managed to carve out some time to visit the shelter for a half-day.

As she came out with bundles of blankets, Ji-hyuk came out to help her.

“There are not many, just bulky.”

“Let me take it.”

Ji-hyuk quickly loaded the blankets into the car and they set off. It was a sunny late summer day. The mornings and evenings were cool, hinting at the upcoming fall.

“But Noona.”

“Yeah?”

“About sending blankets to the shelter. My manager can handle that. Wouldn’t you rather come to my house instead?”

Ji-hyuk cautiously started the conversation with a grin. Before Yeoreum could decline, he quickly added,

“It’s about my dog, Jjong! You promised to visit him.”

“I do want to see the dog, but going to your house is a bit…”

“My dog is so cute now. His ear infection is almost cured, and he’s gotten plump. Aren’t you curious?”

Yeoreum hesitated slightly.

“…I am curious.”

She was curious indeed. It was the smallest and youngest dog at the shelter, suffering from ear and skin diseases and shunned by everyone. That little one had always tugged at her heart. She imagined how adorable it must look now.

But going to a male actor’s house…

“Jjong is at my mom’s house right now. Shall we go there?”

Ji-hyuk was persistent. He gently encouraged Yeoreum’s curiosity and subtly steered the car towards his house. Eventually, Yeoreum half-heartedly agreed.

“Fine. I’ll just quickly check how he’s doing and leave.”

Ji-hyuk’s mother lived in the same apartment complex, just in the next building. Ji-hyuk was slightly disappointed they couldn’t go to his house, but he was content with this progress for now.

Yeoreum’s excitement about seeing the dog was evident in her sparkling eyes and incessant questions. Ji-hyuk looked at her face for a moment and then said with a smile,

“You’re crazy. Your eyes are sparkling. I can’t take my eyes off you.”

“Is he that cute? I can’t wait to see him.”

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation

One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:

To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.

But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.

It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.

This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.

Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.

Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.

“Let’s divorce!”

***

Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.

Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?

But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.

Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.

Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.

In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.

Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”

Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.

He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”

***

Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.

But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.

“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”

Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?

Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
