A week had passed.
Yeoreum had barely slept, busy reworking the character of Lee Hyeon-jun. Originally a minor role appearing briefly as comic relief from episode 5, the character was now reborn as a lead. Increasing the role’s significance without altering the overall story was much harder than anticipated. No matter how she wrote, it all seemed off. She barely managed to write up to episode 6, straining her brain to its limits.
Despite her best efforts, she almost burst into tears at a recent emergency meeting when her work was dismissed as “just 6 episodes.” The shooting schedule was imminent, and everyone was on edge.
‘Keep calm. Just endure.’
In the end, it was decided to overhaul the entire story. Starting from scratch seemed the better option. Sleep was already a lost cause, so she planned to endure another week with superhuman effort.
Then her phone vibrated.
His name flashed on the phone screen. Yeoreum gazed at the letters, not yet accustomed to them. Taking a deep breath, she calmly answered the call.
[Come to my house.]The call ended as if his wish didn’t require her consent.
He acted as if the world should revolve around his desires. Perhaps he believed that. Maybe that’s why he was so hurt when Yeoreum ended things.

She recalled their breakup scene two years ago.
“Let’s break up. My feelings have cooled.”
He didn’t understand her at first, reacting with anger, persuasion, even threats. Eventually, he knelt down, refusing to let her go.
“I can’t live without you. How can I forget you? Tell me to die instead. Yeoreum, I’ll do better. I’m sorry. Don’t go.”
“Pathetic. I really hate Seo Tae-seok now. It’s over.”
She had been harsh, and he clung to the end. If she hadn’t loved him, it would have been a pitiful scene, but it pained Yeoreum because she had loved him. His tears felt like heavy blows.
She couldn’t determine whether pride or love was the greater emotion.
What was certain was that after Yeoreum turned away, Tae-seok never looked for her again. Despite claiming such deep love, he changed once rejected.
Seo Tae-seok, who should have gotten anything he wanted, was crushed, turning his love into equal fury.
[Star Icon]An hour later, the doorbell rang.

The footsteps of the woman walking down the long hallway sounded heavy. Tae-seok leaned against the wall, silently watching her enter. Choi Yeoreum, with no adornment from head to toe, was approaching.
Her hair tightly tied with a plain black hairband, an oversized dress, grey leggings, and a makeup-free face.
Yeoreum, known for her good fashion sense, appearing in such attire seemed like a silent protest to Tae-seok.
He spoke as she sat on the sofa.
“The script.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Yeoreum sat opposite him.
“No, I meant hand me the script, writer Choi Yeoreum.”
“It was decided today to rewrite it. I’ll give it to you after…”
“Hand it over.”
Yeoreum paused, then nodded. She took out the hastily printed script of up to episode 6 from her bag and handed it to him. Tae-seok silently accepted it and began flipping through, page by page.

There was no rush. It was his first drama in a long time, and he wanted to review it thoroughly. He was curious whether she would maintain that posture until he finished reviewing the entire script of episode 6.
Yeoreum sat demurely like a pretty doll, staring only at her feet, as if someone might snatch her away if she looked elsewhere. The only sound was the rustling of paper as Tae-seok turned the pages. Her long eyelashes flickered rhythmically.
Tae-seok broke the silence.
“The content has changed quite a bit, writer-nim.”
“Yes, I’m hastily revising it. Starting today, it’s going to change even more.”
“Specifically, what parts?”
“I’m thinking of introducing Lee Hyeon-jun from episode 1 to increase his role, and then continuously… I’m still thinking about it.”
Yeoreum paused, catching her breath before continuing. Tae-seok chuckled.
“So, you’re telling me there’s no plot yet, with shooting starting in two weeks.”
Her makeup-free face quickly flushed, even her earlobes turned red. Tae-seok glanced at the script, noticing Yeoreum always blushed easily due to her sensitive skin.
“The situation… everything has been too rushed.”

“You mustn’t have slept much. How many days?”
Tae-seok asked again. Yeoreum’s lips parted slightly, then closed again. She seemed unwilling to answer this question.
“If you don’t answer, I won’t let you leave.”
And Tae-seok was determined to hear an answer.
Yeoreum took a deep breath and spoke softly.
“About three days. I managed to sleep for an hour or two in between.”
“You must be tired.”
Tae-seok returned his gaze to the script, flipping through the pages. His interrogation for such a trivial response felt somewhat anticlimactic. He was merely nitpicking over every little thing.
‘This is a rushed script.’
And the revised script was terrible.
