Kalid scanned his counterpart up and down as if sizing him up.

He was decently handsome, admittedly.

“Greetings, Your Highness Prince Kalid. I am Rain, branch chief of Ronica Kingdom for the information guild Runes.”

“A pseudonym, I see.”

It was absurd—introducing himself with a false name when Kalid clearly knew who he was.

“Haha. It’s just a habit.”

Derek replied with an easygoing smile.

Kalid disliked that expression. He also found Derek’s cheerful tone grating. In fact, he disliked everything about Derek. Perhaps it would have been less irritating if Derek had been a middle-aged man instead.

The thought that this averagely handsome peer had once spoken alone with Bellia made his stomach churn.

Hadn’t he himself met Bellia alone and had his heart completely stolen? Even he, who normally cared little for others, had fallen—so what guarantee was there that this man before him wouldn’t do the same?
