Prince Khaled looked into her surprised eyes and spoke with an exceptionally fine smile.

It seemed he had been very much looking forward to showing her this mansion; his expression was somewhat more excited than usual.

“Yes. This is the home I told you about.”

It was exactly as he had described.

The mansion they reached after crossing a wide lawn was extremely luxurious, unlike his unadorned palace. It was vibrant and bright.

The building, constructed of white marble, gleamed under the intense sunlight.

“Wow…”

It was worth all his boasting.

“How is it?”

“It’s really beautiful!”

Velia genuinely admired it.

She also liked that the mansion was thoroughly surrounded by large trees, effectively isolating it from the view of others.

“I did some more work before you came. I thought it would be good for us to live here together.”

His suggestion shook Velia’s heart.

It seemed like she would be happy living in this utterly peaceful place with him. But she couldn’t. Velia shook her head.

“You know why I can’t.”

The emperor will soon die.

She had to stay in the palace to monitor the emperor’s condition. And she couldn’t afford to lose track of Raul’s movements.

“Raul, backed by the Count of Kanterif, won’t be easy.”

The Count of Tesa from the west and the Kingdom of Ronika.

And the Count of Kanterif in the center.

The fight for the next imperial power would be extremely fierce.

“There’s no need to create a vulnerability.”

Velia slowly walked on the broad lawn.

“You have no intention to humor me, do you?”

“You know it as well, you mentioned it for no reason.”

“Sigh. Our princess lacks romance.”

Prince Khaled let out a chuckle and a sigh as he approached Velia.

“Visit here often. That alone would be great.”

“Yes. Let’s do that.”

Prince Khaled then laid out a blanket that he had apparently brought.

“That thing I told you.”

“Huh? Ah ha ha ha.”

Velia laughed and sat next to him.

He remembered she had said she wanted to just sit and spend time like this. He always remembered every conversation he had with Velia.

Even the most trivial ones.

‘…Amazing.’

They really were no different from any other couple.

A refreshing wind wrapped around Velia and passed by.

The late summer afternoon evoked strange emotions.

“Ah, this is great!”

Velia joyfully raised her arms and flopped backward.
The sky that had been blue was now tinged with red, blending into mysterious hues.

A mix of blue, red, pink, and purple made it incredibly vibrant.

Khaled lay beside Velia.

“That sky resembles your eyes.”

Upon hearing this, Velia turned her head towards Khaled.

“Really?”

“Beautiful.”

“Haha. What’s this?”

Having heard these words before, Velia simply chuckled and returned her gaze to the sky.

“Seriously. Look, the purple there is just like your eyes.”

Khaled spoke as he propped up his head with his arms, as if delighted.

“Maybe that’s why I thought you were beautiful the moment I saw you. Because I love the sky at this time.”

Thump, thump.

Velia’s heart fluttered.

Yet, a memory flashed through her mind, and she sharply spoke.

Thinking it was surely an exaggeration that he thought she was beautiful the moment he saw her.

“…Back then, when I proposed marriage, you had no reaction.”

It was an event from their first meeting.

When Velia had proposed marriage, Khaled looked at her as if she were something extraordinary.

“You were beautiful then too.”

“Lies.”

“…No one has ever said that to me.”

Khaled muttered bitterly.

From his words, she could feel how lonely he must have been. She couldn’t find words to comfort him.

“You’ve been in the palace for a few months now, you must’ve grasped the atmosphere, right?”

His tone was flat. It hurt Velia even more.

The glances that seemed to strangely ostracize Khaled since her arrival at the palace.

How he must have grown up could be easily seen.

The reason Khaled had become an arrogant prince was to maintain his dignity amidst such scrutiny.

“There were many who wanted to marry Raul, not just princesses.”

Khaled gave a selfmocking laugh.

“Of course, they couldn’t even dream of him, so they attempted to latch onto me. Yet, if Raul extended his hand, they’d rush to him immediately.”

Actually laughing at those who had been hovering around him before running off to Raul, Velia clenched her eyes shut.

“But you chose me over Raul’s proposal. It was the first time anyone had done that for me.”

Someone had chosen him over Raul. That fact was a monumental event for Khaled.

So, in truth, Velia had been beautiful to him from the start.

When he found out that she had chosen Raul before going back in time, he had felt incredibly miserable. But by then it was too late. He was already too deeply in love.

“Velia.”

The sky had already turned thoroughly red.

Khaled continued to speak, still staring at the sky.

“You’re the only one for me.”

Velia couldn’t bring herself to say anything.

When she had confessed about going back in time, she had only thought about her own feelings.

But what had he felt hearing her story then?

How had he comforted her saying it was all right?

She couldn’t turn her face towards him. If she did, the tears brimming in her eyes might just roll down.

‘What should I do…’

She felt suffocated.

Velia closed her eyes tightly.

A tear that had been held back slipped down her cheek and fell to the ground with a soft sound.

‘I guess I love Khaled.’

She hadn’t thought it was love.

She couldn’t even imagine feeling such emotion again.

But in that moment of realization, the emotion that had been so difficult to grasp suddenly felt clear.

Yes. It was love.

Unbelievably.

She had fallen in love again.

Male lead is a Love-Obsessed Merman

When he discovers she has gone, he risks everything to pursue her on land, enduring agonizing pain to transform his tail into human legs…

One-line summary: Male lead chases female lead. The male lead’s love is a bit sick, an invincible love brain.

Synopsis

During a voyage at sea, Jiang Yang accidentally captures a merman.

Servant: I heard that mermen are fierce and brutal.

Jiang Yang looks at the merman obediently rubbing her palm like a puppy: “You call this fierce and brutal?”

Servant: I heard that mermen have no human nature.

Jiang Yang looks at the merman with wet puppy eyes, obsessively calling her ‘A Yang’ like a childish infant: “You call this having no human nature?”

With great difficulty, she releases the merman back into the sea and returns to shore.

Who would have thought that in less than half a month, the merman, who should have been freely wandering in the South China Sea, would shed his scales, endure the pain of losing his tail, transform into human legs, and come ashore to find her?

He kneels at her feet, rubbing her palm, with merman tears rolling down: “A Yang, don’t abandon me.”
