Khaled whispered his proposal to spread a mat on the wide lawn of the garden and gaze at the sky. Beside him were delicious foods. If bored of staring at the sky, they could read a book, and if hungry, they could eat.

That plan warmed Velia’s heart so much that she closed her eyes and laughed.

“It sounds like a dream.”

It was the last time they spent together before Khaled returned to the empire.

Velia did not want to upset his mood. At least for now, she wanted to go along with him.

She appreciated that he had arranged this spot, recalling the time when she casually mentioned her frequent picnics to the forest behind the palace as a child. Because it was enjoyable to share such trivial stories with him.

She couldn’t remember the last time she imagined a future filled with happiness, without any worries. It had been such a long time.

“We will be happy in that house.”

She knew he was making a lot of considerations for her. Khaled was quite considerate, but she knew his basic temperament was not so.

Looking at him who became affectionate just for her, many thoughts crossed Velia’s mind.

“I… want to see it.”

Velia was also curious about the future he painted.

All the time she spent in the empire was terrible, but it seemed like only happy things would happen there. Despite her extreme dislike of the empire, the house Khaled spoke of felt like a different space.

“Please take me there.”

“Of course.”

Responding thus, Khaled gently raised himself and planted a light kiss on Velia’s forehead.

Khaled naturally moved on top of Velia. His knee brushed against Velia’s knee. His hand touched the ground, and as Khaled looked down at her, the sunbeams that had been shining on Velia naturally got blocked.

“Your Highness. Move aside.”

“How can you talk so calmly in this situation?”

Khaled squinted his eyes.

“What situation are we in?”

Velia jingled the leash of her hunting dog. But as if not just Velia held the leash, Khaled licked his lips leisurely, very slowly and enticingly.

After revealing his feelings to Velia, he made explicit moves at every opportunity.

“A situation where I am about to kiss you?”

“What are you…!”

Velia was momentarily speechless at his audacity, showing no embarrassment.

I mustn’t fall for it this time…

“Eek!”

The sudden onslaught of Khaled’s lips left Velia breathless.

Again! Like this!

Velia thumped Khaled’s chest. But he did not budge.

Is he thinking of kissing every time we meet!

Velia complained inside, but as Khaled gently caressed her cheek, her eyes gradually closed.

“……”

The sensation of his lips vanished, and Velia slowly opened her eyes. Khaled was smiling. He removed the hand that was softly touching her cheek and fixed the hair sticking to her face.

“Khaled.”

“Hush.”

Their lips met again. This time it was a softer and warmer kiss.

Unknowingly, Velia tightly gripped his collar. Her heart pounded every time they kissed, more than once or twice. As if all her resolutions to stay steady were futile.

After the brief kiss, Velia blankly stared at Khaled.

“I wish you’d stay tied by my side forever. So that you can’t go anywhere and just stay by my side.”

Is this something the person who just talked about a warm life together at home would say?

“That’s a crime.”

Velia looked at Khaled with a puckish expression.

Then Khaled cracked a slight smile on one side of his lips.

“I think it would be okay if you say you love me.”

Khaled trapped Velia with his gaze. He looked at her obstinately, making sure she could not escape his gaze.

Velia couldn’t escape his gaze as if someone was controlling her.

“Khaled……”

“I’m waiting. Very patiently.”
Khaled laughed bitterly.

Velia felt a painful constriction in her heart at his expression. Nevertheless, she couldn’t say that she loved him to the end.

She could have said it, even if it were hollow. Yet, as if a heavy weight was tied to her tongue, it remained stiff and unmoving.

“Don’t look like that.”

Saying so, Khaled turned his body to the side, stood up from his spot, and dusted off his clothes. He then extended his hand to Velia, who lay in a daze, staring at him blankly.

“It’s late. We should return.”

[This is the time separator]

The day Khaled departed, he greeted with a bright smile.

He left without hesitation, saying he would wait for the day Velia came to the Empire.

She thought Khaled would turn back at least once as he left the castle gates, but he didn’t turn back even once. Feeling somewhat disappointed, Velia kept watching Khaled leave.

Even though she was to see him in a month, she didn’t understand why she felt so regretful.

“Sis, do you already miss the Second Prince?”

“…No.”

Cloje, who came to see him off together, grinned mischievously.

“She denies it.”

“Hehe.”

Lately, Cloje had been mischievous.

She would always squint her eyes and gaze at her, or giggle strangely.

Velia placed her hand on Cloje’s head, ruffled her hair, and asked,

“Cloje. Is it fun to tease your sister?”

“Teasing? It’s just that…”

When Velia asked kindly, Cloje began to calm down and mumbled her words.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
