Tap, tap, tap-tap.

It was the sound of small bare feet touching and lifting off the marble floor.

A sound he hadn’t heard in a full day, one that had felt desperately precious to the man.

“That’s why I moved you so no one else would see, to my room.”

“……Yes, thank you very much.”

With a soulless thank you, Do Um slid her body smoothly into Ji Wan’s bed.

The thought that the now-relaxed woman had so naturally sought out his bed made the corners of the man’s mouth tilt up in a way he didn’t entirely dislike.

“Sleep more. I’ll sleep in the study.”

As if that had been his plan all along, Do Um nodded, then suddenly seemed to realize the clothes she was wearing weren’t hers and flung the sheet down with a whoosh.

“Director, don’t tell me you changed my clothes too?”

Leaning against the bedroom doorframe, the man smiled with the most roguish face in the world.

It was the first smile since they met that revealed his even teeth.

“Watch your words. It wasn’t ‘changed,’ I just ‘put them on’ you. You were already undressed to begin with.”

Do Um, who had pulled the sheet up over her head, answered in a voice that sounded like she was half-dead.

“……Thank you.”
