In that state, he asked.
“Is it okay for me to see everything of yours?”
“That’s the idea. What’s the point of hiding from you?”
Olivia’s answer, which came back so simply and quickly, was not what he intended, ‘everything about herself.’
But you said you would save me, you believed in me without shaking, and you said there was nothing to hide from me.
How can you shake me like this?
How can you spread to me so much that I can’t erase it?
“So you have to take responsibility.”
My princess. Olivia.
If Olivia had known the thoughts that filled Cryer’s head as he wiped the bone-dry ceiling with the tip of his tongue and sank deep into his blood-red eyes, she would have been terrified.
One, she could read his expression, but she couldn’t read his mind.
“What are you thinking? Do you have an interest in the empire by any chance?”
“Well, I have no interest in the empire.”
“As expected.”
“But I have an interest in what you have an interest in.”
Olivia’s lips, which had been about to say something, closed tightly.
She inspected him like a rabbit scrutinizing a suspicious predator beyond the plain.
“It doesn’t seem like a joke.”
“It’s not a joke.”
“Um… Well… I have an interest in the empire.”
Even after going through death four times, he never once thought of abandoning the empire and running away alone.
Although the determined resolution and nationalistic sentiments for the empire had almost diluted through repeated regressions, he couldn’t throw away the responsibility pressing down on her shoulders like blood flowing down, perhaps because he couldn’t avoid her.
Cryer, who seemed to be seeing something unspeakable, made a strange expression and lightly tapped Olivia’s wrinkled forehead with a strange look, then casually said.
“If you say so, I’m interested in the empire too.”
As his finger brushed the bangs and a light laugh spread across the mouth that had been lightly closed, Olivia made up her mind in a cold manner.
Okay. Let’s not think about it. It’s good that the monster is interested in the empire.
Good things are good. Yeah, let’s move on positively.
“Well then. Here.”
As Olivia handed over the documents, Cryer accepted them obediently but asked.
“You mentioned there was a problem.”
“Yes. Whether you have the ability to handle these documents is the issue, regardless of memory.”
“Because of the lack of memory?”
Cryer skimmed through the documents as if sweeping them from top to bottom, and Olivia lowered her head.
“Memory may have an impact, but even if you have all the memories from the past, it’s impractical if you haven’t dealt with this kind of work…”
“Whoever wrote these documents, I don’t know, but the spelling is wrong in diplomatic documents. There’s not much to criticize about the content, but this guy is careless.”
Olivia’s eyes blinked rapidly at Cryer’s ruthless evaluation.
Then, as if she had suddenly become calm, she made a gentle gesture with a more tranquil expression than ever, as if she had detached herself from everything.
“Your ability is more than enough. Shall we leave it to you from here to there?”
Olivia handed over the documents briskly, as if saying she had waited.
“Isn’t the problem being solved too easily?”
“There’s no problem when you have the ability. No problem at all. None.”
Somehow, with a cute desire shining in his blue eyes, conveying an intention to pass the documents, Cryer, without realizing it, reached out towards her.
Ah, yes. I can never leave your side. I can’t send you away.
“Cryer?”
As if his fingertips were about to touch Olivia’s eyes, she looked at his hand in a puzzled manner and then suddenly burst into a wide smile.
“You’re asking for the documents!”
“Well, it’s just that…”
“Are you asking for them? Right? You’re asking for help with document processing, aren’t you? Right?”
In response to her urging as if to say, “Just answer and talk,” Cryer let out a shallow sigh and withdrew his hand.
“Sometimes, I feel like opening your small head.”
“Even if you want to see inside, deal with the documents first.”
Olivia, who answered firmly, added with her face as if she would immediately enter the documents.
“From here to there!”
In the end, Cryer, who grabbed the documents near where she pointed, demolished the mountain of documents with a speed and agility that surpassed not only Olivia but also his own expectations.
Olivia, who was passing the documents like crazy, lifted her eyes only to the black shadow cast on the white paper.
“It’s done.”
“Already?”
“Yes. I entrusted only the ones that can be handled easily.”
“Even so, this fast.”
As if touched deeply, tears slightly welled up in the blue pupils.
Looking down at Olivia, whose eyes were twinkling with anticipation, Cryer, with a face that seemed to cover her entire face with his large and rough hands, whispered as he blocked the blue eyes.
“Cryer?”
“I’ll help, so don’t look at me with those eyes.”
“With those eyes?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
