It might sound like a fanciful story that couldn’t even be made into a play, but Olivia had witnessed that scene no less than four times.

To be precise, twice she had actually witnessed it, and twice she had only heard the resounding noise when the wall collapsed.

“Well, it was quite a majestic sight.”

No matter how closely he looked into Olivia’s distant blue eyes, he couldn’t see what she saw.

Certainly, in her sight, there must be herself.

Definitely ‘herself.’

I don’t like it.

The thought suddenly surged up and overturned his insides.

He doesn’t like the blurry gaze depicting him, unaware of him.

A slow vibration echoed through Cryer’s neck.

“Olivia.”
He willingly embraced the name she called him.

And Olivia’s reactions, trembling lips and reddening ear tips as she touched them while calling my name, were all delightful.

Just delightful?

Right now, I wanted to nibble on those small ears, as if red liquid would drip down at any moment.

Cryer slowly covered his mouth.

Suddenly, he had a premonition.

That my forgotten past wasn’t as just or filled with light as it seemed.

Although he exposed it and laughed heartily, everything was covered behind his hands.

Eventually, the smile disappeared from his revealed lips.

His eyes, staring directly into Olivia’s blue eyes, were deeply provoking.

“You said you would save me.”

At his words rolling down her ears, Olivia’s eyes, which were shaking like ripples, became clear.

“You said you would help me escape from the shackles of slavery.”

Who would help whom escape? Borrowing the words of the ancestors of the old Bolsheviks, it’s preposterous.

You didn’t even rescue me from you, let alone the continent! Four times you failed!

The once agitated heart and the upright goosebumps were now chilled to the point of forgetting.

In response to her words, which were like cutting, no, precisely drawing lines and pushing away, Cryer said nothing.

How long has this uncomfortable silence, as skin-scorching as the heat, flowed?

Olivia turned away from him first, moving her steps.

“We’ll start by looking around the princess’s residence.”

Looking at Olivia’s back as she left the door, Cryer’s crimson eyes looked down, sinking further and further down.

As the dim sunset approached, in the space prepared in the basement of the Heynder mansion, Bonita was silently gazing at a man.

“It failed.”

As the voice drier than the desert ended, the man promptly pressed his forehead against the floor.

[Dash]Thud.

“I’m sorry!”

Although the sound of the forehead breaking on the hard wooden floor could be heard, it was not audible due to the man’s apology.

As the blood streaming from the broken forehead began to spread on the marbled pattern, Bonita opened her mouth again.

“Did you ask for the impossible?”

“No.”

“Did you do your best?”

“No.”

“What should you have done?”

“Eliminate one maid from the princess’s palace at random.”

“You knew it well. It was only one random person. You prepared all the plans and materials to do that.”

Of course, the man didn’t know why he had to do that, but such a thing wasn’t important to him.

What was important was that the man received an order from Bonita, failed, and that was all.

The man, who had pressed his face against the floor, tried to open his trembling jaw to say something, but only harsh breaths came out of his open mouth.

“Somebody died in that incident.”

“Yes… yes.”

“As for that matter?”

“I’m sorry.”

Useless.
Even though I chose quite a suitable guy, it failed. I should pause this plan for now.

In the blink of an eye, Bonita decided to remove the man in front of her.

If living and breathing is of no use, it would be much better for him to die and be purified.

“Get rid of him.”

“Ah, no, no! If you give me one more chance, just one more chance!”

The man screamed, being dragged out, but in Bonita’s mind, it had been a long time since the man was erased.

A woman, with half of her face covered by shadows, approached beside Bonita.

“Shall we proceed with the plan?”

“No, let’s put it on hold for now.”

The woman, without readily withdrawing at Bonita’s response, asked.

“Do we have to kill a servant to plant someone in the princess’s palace? We can stop the random killing and send someone away.”

Must they have a reason to kill? It seems too obvious.

“That’s the most certain way. Secrets should be buried in the grave by death.”

Didn’t they lose their most precious thing to an unburied secret?

As the woman was about to open her mouth again to insist, she quickly closed it.

If the employer wants that, there’s no need to say more.

As clearly and precisely as the employer wishes, a person poked will move.

Moreover, regardless of the success or failure of the task, the employer pays money every time the task is completed. Is there a better employer than this?

However, after completing the post-commission, the question is whether life will be like a hunting dog, alive or dead.

Bonita’s dry voice brought the woman, who had been lost in other thoughts for a moment, back to reality.

“How is the progress of the investigation into what happened at the princess’s residence?”

“The victim has been identified, but there are no clues about the murderer.”

“The victim was the murderer, right?”

“Yes. According to the plan, she should have become the murderer.”

Bonita, with an expressionless face as if wearing a mask, looked into the distance, lost in thought.

The culprit of the murder case at the imperial enemy’s residence, the only enemy empress, couldn’t even find a clue? Maybe the investigator is the problem. It might be necessary to replace the investigator soon when investigating the imperial residence.

Of course, the reason for the lack of progress in solving the case was entirely different from Bonita’s expectations.

There was no investigator large enough to handle the investigation into the murder case at the imperial palace of the empire carelessly.

One, even if the investigator examined and overturned the night of the incident with all his might, couldn’t find the murderer’s tail, let alone the tail feathers.

But that’s understandable…

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
