After grabbing a quick breakfast with the scones she’d bought on the way back to their lodging the previous day, Se Kyung began getting ready to go out with Tae Jo.

The first place they visited was a temple situated near the sea. Wearing a floppy hat and a sky-blue dress, Se Kyung linked arms with Tae Jo as they strolled around the temple grounds.

Perhaps because it was a weekday morning, there weren’t many people around. Se Kyung placed a coin on a large toad statue and entered the main prayer hall to pray for Angko’s safe birth.

They walked down to a wide rock extending into the sea and watched a school of yellow croakers flapping in the water. On their way back to the parking lot, she bought a set of prayer beads meant to bless an easy delivery and slipped them onto her wrist.

“What would you like for lunch?”

Tae Jo asked Se Kyung once they were back in the car. Without a moment’s hesitation, she answered right away.

“Buckwheat naengmyeon. Ever since I found that restaurant yesterday, I’ve been craving it nonstop.”

Just picturing the bright red seasoning made her mouth water.

She looked up the restaurant’s address and entered it into the navigation system. As Tae Jo drove following the voice prompts, Se Kyung leaned back into her seat, looking worn out.

“Tired?”

“A little. Maybe because I’m heavier than before—even walking a short distance makes my legs swell up quickly.”

Se Kyung lightly tapped her aching calves with her fists. Just then, her phone rang from inside her bag, signaling a new message.

“Who is it?”

“Je Hoon. He said yesterday that he’d spend the night hanging out with Manager Moon Seok Joo. Looks like he’s heading back to Seoul now. Oh—you already know, right? About the maternity photoshoot offer I got.”

“Yeah. Are you going to do it?”
