At the sound of the door opening, Se Kyung stood up from her seat. Director Shim and Tae Jo were coming out of the examination room.

It was unclear what they had discussed inside, but neither of them looked particularly pleased.

Director Shim was smiling, but her clenched molars made it seem like a forced smile, while Tae Jo’s brow was slightly furrowed.

“Let’s go.”

Se Kyung nodded and headed out of the waiting room, when Director Shim went somewhere briefly, saying she’d be right back. When she returned, she held a white shopping bag in her hand.

“Here, take this, Se Kyung. It’s folic acid supplements.”

“Thank you. About the payment…”

“CEO Jin will cover the consultation fee. You kept my business card safe, right? Since it’s still early, don’t overexert yourself. If anything happens, even late at night, please don’t hesitate to call. And make sure to talk things through well with the baby’s father.”

Se Kyung glanced sideways at Tae Jo. Since she hadn’t revealed that he was the father, Director Shim hadn’t even looked in Tae Jo’s direction.

“Yes. I’ll contact you again soon.”

“Alright. Go home carefully. And next time, bring the baby’s dad along for sure.”

Director Shim clasped Se Kyung’s hand firmly as she repeated her request.

She couldn’t say anything and just gave an awkward smile. But the baby’s father is right here with me now….

“Yes, if I have time.”
