“CEO.”
Tae Jo looked up as he heard his name being called. Se Kyung, having finished her consultation, was entering the waiting room.
“Are you done?”
Se Kyung nodded, and Tae Jo closed the book he was reading. Dr. Shim, following behind, furrowed his brow at the book in Tae Jo’s hand.
“Why are you reading that?”
Tae Jo had been looking at a parenting book placed in the waiting room, intended for expectant fathers to read while waiting for their partners.
“Just killing time. There wasn’t much else to read.”
Why is he, who doesn’t even have a child, reading it?
“What are you going to do with parenting knowledge? You don’t have a child.”
Dr. Shim’s comment made Se Kyung flinch.

She glanced at Tae Jo, who seemed amused by her startled reaction.
“I might find it useful someday.”
“Useful? Are you planning to get married? Do you have someone you’re dating?”
“Hiccup.”
Instead of Tae Jo’s response, a hiccup sound came from somewhere.
Dr. Shim turned sharply. Se Kyung, her hand over her mouth, was hiccupping continuously.
“Oh my, sudden hiccups? Se Kyung, were you shocked by his mention of having a girlfriend?”
“It’s not that… Hiccup!”
Se Kyung, trying to speak, was interrupted by another hiccup.
Unable to speak, Se Kyung received pats on the back from Dr. Shim.

“Wait here, I’ll get you some water.”
Dr. Shim gestured to Tae Jo to keep an eye on her and left the waiting room. Tae Jo approached Se Kyung, who was watching him.
“Were you surprised?”
“A little. I didn’t expect Dr. Shim to say something like that.”
Se Kyung slowly breathed to calm her heart, and Tae Jo gently stroked her back.
“What were you going to answer?”
Se Kyung, hiccupping softly, asked Tae Jo.
“Should I just come clean?”
“About you being Angko’s father?”
“Yes.”

Tae Jo nodded. It wouldn’t matter if Dr. Shim knew the baby’s father was Tae Jo, but…
“Well, it’s you who will get grabbed by the collar, not me.”
“Ah, I don’t like that.”
“What don’t you like?”
Dr. Shim’s voice made Tae Jo turn. She was struggling to open a bottle of water.
“Here, Se Kyung.”
“Thank you.”
“And you. What don’t you like?”
Dr. Shim fixed Tae Jo with a challenging stare.
Se Kyung sipped the water as she eyed them. It seemed Dr. Shim hadn’t overheard their entire conversation.

“I don’t like you eavesdropping.”
“Funny. I wasn’t eavesdropping; I overheard.”
Dr. Shim scoffed and countered Tae Jo’s comment.
“So, you really have someone you’re dating?”
“Why? Can’t I have a girlfriend?”
“No, it’s not that you can’t, it’s just…”
Dr. Shim glanced at Se Kyung, then back at Tae Jo.
If he had someone, he should have said so earlier. Then Yeryeong wouldn’t have made those odd comments about Se Kyung being a good match for him!
Dr. Shim restrained himself from blurting out, recalling something Yeryeong had asked her to keep secret.
‘Don’t tell Se Kyung that I’m Tae Jo’s sister-in-law.’

‘Why?’
‘Because it’s a bit awkward, you know. Being related to the agency’s CEO.’
Hmm, would it be awkward to know Yeryeong is Tae Jo’s sister-in-law?
“Why stop mid-sentence? Is Se Kyung’s consultation over?”
“Oh? Yes, it’s over. You can go now.”
Dr. Shim nodded absentmindedly. Tae Jo picked up his jacket.
“Then we’re leaving. Take care.”
“Yeah, take care. Se Kyung, head on home. I’ll contact you later.”
“Sure. See you later.”
Se Kyung nodded and left the hospital with Tae Jo.

“Well, I’ll tell her about Yeryeong later.”
Dr. Shim watched Tae Jo take the water bottle from Se Kyung’s hand and scratched his head.
Ding-dong!
The cheerful sound of a message notification rang out early in the morning. Se Kyung picked up her phone.
[Se Kyung, come to Blanc in Cheongdam-dong at 6:30 PM tonight. I’ll send the address separately. The reservation is under my name, so just mention it when you arrive.] The message was from Dr. Shim. It was just last night that she had heard about arranging a meeting with Yeryeong, and it seemed that a restaurant had already been booked in the meantime.Clicking on the linked address revealed it to be a fusion French restaurant.
It was Se Kyung who had intended to treat them, but it turned out that Dr. Shim had taken the initiative to book the restaurant, considering Se Kyung’s busy schedule.
“I’ll definitely be the one paying.”
She had always felt a bit guilty for keeping Dr. Shim at the clinic late due to her irregular schedule. Therefore, she had been determined to treat her to a meal at least once.
However, she wasn’t sure if it would be easy for her to treat Dr. Shim or Yeryeong. Both seemed like the type to insist on paying for meals themselves.

“Both of them do have a strong, elder sister vibe.”
Of course, the elder of the two was gallery director Ban Yeryeong.
Se Kyung chuckled and replied to Dr. Shim’s message.
The timing should work out if she attended a brand event in the afternoon and then headed to the appointment.
“I’m a bit peckish.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
